Available to talk to new Clubs in January, set to leave on a Bosman in the summer sources inside the club have confirmed..

Fair play to Liverpool for not giving into his release clause demands..

Good job we signed Keita really..

Some club are going to get a decent player on a Bosman

I really would have liked to keep him in the squad. I just hope that he doesn't join another team in the PL.

I'd just like gruijic to get minutes full stop.

So we're going to lose him for nothing rather than something?

Great.

He's been bollocks this season so far. A nice goal against Maribor doesnt make ammends more a dozen bang average performances.

Its a shame hes going as he does has tremendous potential, certainly more than any other midfielder weve got but can understand the clubs reluctance to set a precedent internally with a sub-market value release clause on him.

Im sure he will prosper on the continent.

He was after 160k a week appaz. He's not worth that.

I think the precedent it sets would be of far more concern though.

He is Probably Using the fact he is a world cup winner as leverage..

On his day he is unplayable.. but he far too inconsistent to warrant such a fee..

I heard 100k a week. Either way apparently its not the salary thats the problem its the release clause. Give him his release clause. Better to get some money than no money.

When has he produced an "unplayable" performance?
Quite. He's never been unplayable. He's a big, strong guy who occasionally applies himself well. Sometimes it works out for him. Most of the time it doesn't. He's a Jack of all trades - apart from endeavour, he doesn't really excel at anything with any consistency. It's a massive cock up to be losing him on a free, but he's not the future of our midfield, and he shouldn't be the present either.

His release clause is too low for today's market, I believe we have looked at an increase it but no agreement on it Can's side, it's seen as too excessive from Can's camp

He basically wants and Easy way out and high pay..

It's a really dangerous precedent to set it today's market..

There has been games where he has been dominant running from midfield with his surging runs, scoring a few goals.. But those displays are too far and between..

Big fat meh, I'd let him get splinters in his arse until June unless there's a problem or a rest needed with the other midfielders

He thinks he is better than than he is. Lacks pace that's why he gives away fouls in crucial areas as he can be evaded with a bit of acceleration. If he was playing next to someone who had a lot of pace then it wouldn't matter so much but in our midfield they all lack pace, so the issue stands out even more... How many times have we seen him trying to make those recovery tackles when he had been outmaneuvered only to end up as a free kick? Maybe he would be better in Italy for that reason. We need more mobile midfielders. Ketia is a start.

If you think about some of his goals and skillz, which make up about 0.05% of his total play, there's probably a ninety second youtube video out there that's making Juve fans jizz in their pants. But he can fuck off, he's wank.

Fuck that cunt, thought he'd improve this season, fucking roller coaster form Juve can have him.
Klopp should buy a defensive midfielder as his replacement but he won't.

Can is very good when he is on his game. He was a vital performer in the final stretch of last season. He is inconsistent but he is usually not our worst midfielder. He has also been improving every season and people also tend to forget he is still only in his early 20s. He definitely has a higher upside when compared to Hendo or Gini imo.

We are losing a good player no doubt about that. It is a pity we groomed him just to let him leave on a whim.

I am not sure why we would have him play as a defensive mid. He is arguably our best midfielder going forward bar Coutinho. If you ever want to pick a box to box midfielder out of our batch Can is the only one who comes close.

Bothered. He's not been great this year, and Keita should be much better in his role next season. He should be the sort of player we have on the bench, not starting.

Just set the the release fee at reasonable amount. £60 million plus.

We tend to sell our our star players anyway, release fee or not.

He's probably our best midfielder, if we're talking him vs Hendo, Wijnaldum, Milner etc but he's the best of a bunch of average players.
Come to think of it, this is probably the worst midfield I've ever seen at LFC.
