This doesn’t make sense, they were already allegedly £300m plus to the bad regarding FFP coming into this window and have spent £180m in it so far. There is not fucking way they can do any bid at all that meets FFP but so what? It doesn’t seem to bother them.

could it be they have actually run out of cash? Finally?

BlueCo is not just Todd Boehly is it. Perhaps his co-investors are starting to question the returns? They’ve sunk a horrendous amount of cash in already and the opportunity is not that great

Clearly, they (Chelsea) are shit scared of something otherwise a bid plus structure to match or be better than ours would have gone through by now. I think givem the player and his agent are all cocks, our demands to them will be simple ... withdraw your Southampton bid , and we complete that transfer for the 50M or 49.99M, and only after that we withdraw our bid for Caicedo on the grounds that the player did not want to come to us.

Financial and disqualification for UEFA, financial and points deductions from EPL

Chelsea disqualified themselves from Europe this season.

They can spend the next 12 months trying to figure out how to get round the problem.

I tell you what, ya we’ve been poor the last 5 weeks in the transfer window but I am loving our fuck you stance at this particular junction.
It is wonderful stuff..

If Chelsea somehow muster this deal from no where (unlikely). The follow on from this will be quite hilarious..

You do know the ideal solution for us.. ?

Go back with a bid for Lavia then send him on loan to Brighton for the season with a clause to recall in January, to get the deal over the line .

Win win for all parties.. Brighton and Liverpool
Doesn't sound like a massive win for Lavia.

I don't understand the relevance of us leaving a bid In unless it's genuinely to cause maximum fiscal damage to Chelsea , it's seemingly apparent that he doesn't want to come here, why else would the bid not have been withdrawn.

Legally , If we've agreed a purchase , the money would be set aside and so isnt this whole fiasco just lengthening any other purchase we may be involved in until monies arent liable ?

Yep. We can only hope the club are laying groundwork for other deals in the background.

Not until he signs a contract. Until then he's legally Brightons.

We don't need someone who doesn't want to be here. All things being equal I'd have preferred him over Lavia, but not if he's set on moving to Lahndan (he wanted to go to the Arse originally when they were sniffing around him).
