BYE BYE ROY!!!!!

Didnt see his one after last nghts game but his interview after the Chelsea game was spot on, IMO he let the immense pressure get to him early on and he kept shooting himself in the foot maybe with the team in better form his form will improve also.

I still very much doubt he is the man to take us forward.

I think the treatment of Hodgson on this forum has been sickening.

Every time we get a decent result, I am even more thrilled than usual because it is one in the eye for most of you people who call yourselves Liverpool supporters.

Oh don't take it to heart. I love the budgie-faced old mediocrity really!

He's like the Grandfather I never had. Or wanted

Has it been that bad? He has had a few nightmare interviews and some of his tactic and team selections have bemused us. We have a negative goal difference and even lost to Blackpool at home. Roy has brought a lot of this on to himself Portly.

I realise that I am pissing into the wind, but I just had to say it! :🙂

Hodgson walked into an appalling situation. Our squad was considerably weaker than the weak squad that Rafa bequeathed to him, because Mascherano wasn't in it. The fixture list had given him a string of tough fixtures to start the season.

I believe in giving a sucker an even break.

I was more than willing to give him a chance at the start of the season, but after a string of dreadful and insulting interviews in addition to all the rubbish performances, I'm not in the least ashamed to say I don't like the guy and want him gone sooner rather than later.

Regardless of recent results. I still don't enjoy the way we're playing at all (sitting back far too much and playing far too negatively). This sort of football will only get us so far (6th at best).

Hopefully Roy will do what he was employed to do, "steady the ship" and get moved on at the end of the season.

I wasn't to convinced that NESV would sack him now anyway. As they will spend a looong time in finding the right type of young manager to take us forward.

That appointment will be the most important one we'll make in a long time. And with that in mind it's fine that they spend as much time as possible finding the right man.

Roy's lack of ambition is whats annoys me the most these days. It's shows on and off the pitch.
He'll be gone though, no doubt about that.

Spot on. I was all for giving him a fair crack of the whip like any new manager deserves but I can't warm to him at all. I don't enjoy his musing in the press or many of his decisions.

'I'll enjoy ninth' is a bit cringeworthy, but otherwise it wasn't too bad, I suppose. Ideally, he'd do a Ferguson and just stop turning up to press conferences.

However, ON the field, you have to give Hodgson some credit for today's performance. Going 442 against the best team in the league was a brave decision, particularly after what happened when he did the same against City.

That's a good point.

Actually it was more of a 4-4-1-1

Kuyt's role when we didn't have the ball was very vital, in that he got on top of John Mikel Obi very quickly, denying him time on the ball and making it difficult for him to pick out a pass. So, in effect he was like a fifth midfielder when we didn't have the ball. The team didn't do that at all against City, hence their dominating us in midfield that night.

Texted a rumour by a mate (Spurs fan) before the game that Henry has already approached a new manager (no name) and that things will move quickly - If we lose tonight Roy could even go by tomorrow.

Probably utter bollocks but I'd clutch any straw at the moment.

why would a spurs fan know?

His brother in-law is a TV producer in football media (used to produce MOTD). Sometimes he gets wind of things before others.

It's probably bollocks anyway.

Bye bye Roy indeed. If NESV act now we could still salvage something from this season.
[/quote]

I'm not sure we can, we'll still have a shit squad.

I dunno. We started this game with at least three players who are genuinely shit, so it rather depends on who they appoint once Budgie is sacked, and how much money the new man gets, because we have a very poor squad, and a mediocre first team.

Well if we at least put out a team that is instructed to attack, it's still good enough to beat Wigan and Stoke mate.

It'll get worse before it gets better though, the wage bill is at 60% of turnover i.e. the max it can be under the soon to be implemented UEFA rules.

So we're going to have to slowly shed the crap and/or overpaid players before we can make any serious additions.

A new manager might help in the meantime but he won't work miracles with this squad.

that fat new contract for carragher is starting to look dodgier and dodgier. nothing against the bloke, but is her really worth £90k a week on current form, and what he'll produce over the next 3 years?

we might as well give jovanovic away as well, and god only knows how much of the benayoun money we've already awarded to our 'free' signing joe cole.
