Lads, if it was loin cloths instead of Shirts, I'd still wear then. 12M = a 2009/10 CL European Run. Nice work.

Makes me laugh when people say stuff like this.

Of COURSE you'd wear a loin cloth to the pub.....!

I really would. The wife would object, mind!

i have no problem with this...

In fact, im very happy indeed.

the deal is huge and as such im positive that they will go above and beyond to find out what the fans want. I hate the majority of the Adidas range anyway... so no huge loss.

They are not shit, they are based on need, you wear a ton of pads so they are huge but still need airflow or you'd overheat, hence the holes. Plus players move so fast and the fouls happen so quickly numbers have to be on both sides for both the officiating and the fans.
Shit design.

Having said that, yup we need those pads for Aurelio and Agger.

Why does everyone keep talking about ice hockey? Who do they make hockey kits for? I've never seen their products before.

I like the Adidas and they were very welcome after Reebok.

As everyone else is saying, the money is great but I hold out very little hope that these kits will be anywhere near half decent. Then again, I won't be wearing one anyways.

Impressive if it works out, adidas was our biggest ever kit deal and it's been doubled. Well done on that fsg

So people are moaning about potential future shirts but are more than happy with the shit kits of the past few years?

Massive news on the financial front thOugh

If the shirt they design is ugly, we could lose all the additional money we've gained through this deal in weak shirt sales. I really would like to know if they have EVER designed a football kit before. If it turns out they have no expertise, this might not be such a good deal on our part.

Hmmm. Happy about the money. Not so happy about our kits being made by a company called Warrior!

Ah well, times they are a-changing!

Whatever the design it still have a crap bank's name all over the front of it.
Standard Chartered is a very good bank - I worked with them in Mozambique and they were very professional. They are not well known by the general public in the UK because they mainly operate in Africa and the Far East.

I would much rather have their name on our shirt than that of an internet poker site or a loan shark. 🙂

^^^sees it.

According to Wiki, parent company for Warrior, new Balance's revenue was $1.55 billion, I think they can afford £25m a year!
One more thing to consider is apprently the Adidas deal didn't hve LFC sharing any revenue from sales like Utd, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barca have with their kit suppliers, so this looks like a real real win win deal for LFC.

Someone posted the following mock up on RAWK.

I could live with that!

I'd have gone with Adios Adidas as the thread title myself!
I couldn't be arsed what the gear looks like, 25mil is a load of cash.

Logo looks log.

Great news. As for the kits looking like ice hockey kits, I very much doubt they'd make a kit without familiarizing themselves with the market. They want to sell them, after all.

I like it. I like the fact that we're being paid a massive wedge for someone to supply our clothing that's the biggest in English football. I also l like the fact that our supplier only supplies to us (in English football) and no one else. I can't wait to see it and get one. I use/wear my tops in the gym, so it matters not to me what they look like s long as its traditional looking. Good job (once again) Ian Ayre.

According to Marketing PT, we sell the 4th most shirts in the world after Barca, Real and Utd. Its a very good deal, great work by FSG.

We're not talking about general fashion, where a company has to constantly keep up-to-date with the trend, or in some cases create something new every season, and still be under huge pressure to create a hit.
It's just a football kit. They only have to take a look around the market and see what clubs are wearing and base loosely on that.
It's only a simple shirt, shorts and socks.

I'm not sure I believe in this rumor though. It seems too far off the starting date of the contract for them to have agreed on a deal already.
If they know they can get 25m a year now, why would they not spend the next year trying to squeeze even more money out of New Balance or another company?

As far as im aware in the Standard chartered deal, we've got the biggest sponsorship deal in the history of English football, worth £80m over 4 years.

Correct?

Now with Warrior, we'll also have the biggest kit deal in the history of English football, at £25m per season.

£45m per season for the next 4 seasons. That is massive.

I cant remember of the top of my head the previous figures in comparison but as the increase must be hefty enough. What a fantastic way of highlighting the rise of this great club on a business level. If some of that can translate through to 'football pitch level' then we are cooking on gas.

Also it must be a massive blow for Adidas.

I expect them to come back to us with a bumper offer in a few years time!

Even if the shirts ugly, I'm sure one of 3 shirts will still sell magnificently well. People buy it because it's liverpool fc, not fashion

I always buy the new home jersey when it comes out.
They really can't be any worse than Reebok, they were shit.

This sounds like excellent deal. I wouldn't worry about the kit design either just yet. Surely they wont be spending 25m and not do it properly? Them being less known might be a good thing too as they perhaps wont have to make it fit into their brand as strictly as the better known ones.

Is it still a rumour?

Seems to have been reported in most of the papers.
