I'm was only messing. I thought the whole team was good in the first half but less so in the second half and I put that down to playing within ourselves because we play at the weekend.
You never seem to appreciate that the opposition can influence the game and our performance Neil.
We played well in the first half where Brighton were poor, they massively improved second half and thats why we looked weaker.
You live in a football eutopian dreamworld.
brighton got more into the game second half but to me we seemed to be playing in second gear. okay, I'll give credit to brighton for pushing us back but I still think we had a couple of gears if brighton had equalised.
I disagree. If Brighton had equalized they would have won the game. They were very good second half. We didnt seem to know what to do.
And saying 'They were thinking about the weekend' is crap. Most of that team arent going to play at the weekend and that was their chance to earn a place. They werent coasting. They were outplayed.
so do we take any credit for good performances this season or were the opposition just having an off game?
What a thing to say. Against Bolton and Stoke we played very well and didnt allow either team to hit their straps.
We played well in the first half against Sunderland when they were really poor, then they improved second half.....
Oh i dont know why im bothering.

when I was watching the after game talk with kenny, I was pleased when kenny talked us up, because all it was was brighton, brighton, brighton. I give credit for a championship side taking the game to us but I definately think we took our foot off the gas. let's agree to disagree, you seem to be getting annoyed and I'm not purposely trying to start an arguement.
Im not getting annoyed at all mate. I just disagree.
On the subject of Kenny, I thought his post match comments were a bit off. I seem to be the only one not loving his pre/post match stuff to be honest. I cringe at some of the stuff he says.
Theres cagey. And theres 'a little' bit mental.
Usual Kenny stuff. Reporter asks normal question Kenny acts as though hes called his wife a cunt.
You don't get the concept, or what ?

Tell that to the Scotland team that got excited when they took the lead against Brazil in '82.

I get the concept, but there's nothin to indicate we were doing it.

We couldn't get the ball for long periods. That's not playing within yourselves, that's being out played.

Plus the good spells we had were very good. I'm not sure what extra we could have done (besides score more obviously)

He was being a prick. For no reason. Patronising and innacurate. I pulled him on it. I spoke to him the way i'd speak to my pals. He didnt get all uppity about it.
Im really really sorry if i offended you.

First half we played well. Some nice football. Got an early goal and should have had the game put to bed by halftime. Bit like to the mancs the night before.

Second half we were basically overrun by a championship side who had something like 65% possession. Thats worrying, considering we didnt have a reserve team out, but a very experienced one most of whom are internationals. Talking about extra gears and taking our foot off the gas is a load of bollox. You dont just allow a team back into a game and then go us the gears again. We were outplayed in that second half and only a breakaway goal got us through.

But we did get through.

Regards Kenny's interview, I wasnt overly impressed with it either. But I suppose he had to try to big up the performance after the Spurs fiasco. Im sure deep down he noted the shite 2nd half as well as the good 1st half.

Didnt you think that this:

Oncy, shut your god damn whining! You've done nothing but cry for the last 2 weeks, and if it's an attempt at humour then you're failing.

Was inflammatory, patronising unfair and innacurate?
Did my explanation suddenly drop everything into place?
Come on man, youre pulling me up unfairly here. You (and Fallon) know how i speak, i dont mean any offence and im not 'against' Fallon, I just thought that was unwarranted and out of order.
Im not carrying any grudge now though, im done.

I do now.
You're right.
Cool.

This is like when your mum & dad argue.

I dont like it, so STOP.

Ta.

Back to subject at hand, we did not drop any gears, we were outplayed through the centre cos we're weak & tired there, & we couldnt retain possession when we got it.

Kenny's post match interview I didnt like. At all. It seemed overly defensive at best.

i'm going to watch the highlights as i missed the second half

brb!!!!!!

edit: we looked gash in the second half

Anyone watching the Brighton v Leeds match? 2-2 with half hour to go brighton back from 0-2 down
