I feel like if we thought he was leaving we would have already purchased a CB to let him bed in. Same for Salah and Trent (although Bradley is a more obvious replacement there)

"Liverpool completed 92% of their passes against Brentford, their best passing accuracy in a Premier League game on record since 2003-04.

Against Ipswich they had 50 touches in the opposition box, the most in a manager’s first-ever game in charge in the Premier League since Opta started recording the data in 2008-09."

Spreadsheet boys will be wanking themselves dry.

Yeah, as said earlier. Nothing.

I heard the same kind of talk when Emre and others left for free.
I honestly can't think of many important LFC players in their last year signing a new contract mid season. Maybe Milner, though he was squad player, but I can't think of anyone else.
I think Trent might sign a new contract, but I'm not sure about the rest.

Looks like some of the players need to get over the fact that Klopp isn't there anymore.
How many times have shown how upset they were at being subbed when Klopp was manager, and Klopp would always say "I would expect them to be upset, it means they care" I am paraphrasing?
I know its two games but its my personal observation that Trent looks way more comfortable in a Slot system than anyone elses. I think its stupid the club has left themselves exposed by letting players enter the last year of their contract and that Donkey Hughes seems so inept he has yet to even talk to the players if you believe the press reports.

If Virg leaves, which is a big possibility, we will be left with Ibou and Quansah, both of whom have not nailed down the position yet.

If we can't even find a new CB to bed in this season, what is the likelihood of us finding 2 the next, one of whom have to ideally come in and dominate straight away?

It makes little sense to keep kicking the can down the road and pretend everything is going to work out just fine.

Matip anyone? 🤣

We'll find good replacements. That's not the point. I can't believe we didn't start contract negotiations a year or more ago with TAA. I mean that literally. We must have. There is no way we didn't. Who would drop the ball on something so massive?

And as for all these negotiations, some posters here seem to give the impression that they think that they get dealt with one at a time and it's a triage system. That's not how business works. These things are all working in parallel and the management team SHOULD be meeting daily to discuss any progress on whatever is on their desk. It's not like they're working in isolation on some new deal, this shit will all be documented and will have deal owners and stakeholders and if the company is run right then everyone will be shitting themselves an hour before their big weekly meeting on what they tried last week and what they're gonna try next week.

The agenda won't just be, what's happening with Trent? He'll be a line item like in any other business. The idea that they've ignored this is seems extremely far fetched.

Idiotic naïveté on behalf of some of our ‘ more excitable’ posters.
