Bundesliga expert Lee Price (wrote Klopp's biography), "It would be a surprise if Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich aren't in for Brandt too, what with Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery ageing, and Kingsley Coman due to return to Juventus this summer."

Lee Price, "But Klopp is confident of landing his man (Julian Brandt), with his reputation with young players edging him ahead in the race."

Bayern have already stated that they will be making the Coman loan permanent.

Yep, reported 2 days ago. I guess those comments above are from earlier this year.

Bayern Munich to sign Kingsley Coman

APRIL 1, 2017
Kingsley Coman is certain to be signed by Bayern Munich as Coach Carlo Ancelotti says the French winger “will definitely stay.”
There have been doubts over the future of Coman, especially as only played in a handful of fixtures this term, struggling to make an impact on the pitch and only scoring 2 goals in the one match against Hamburg.
There were suggestions that Bayern may pass on their option to sign the player, leaving a return to Juventus as a realistic possibility.
Despite his limited appearances, Ancelotti has confirmed that the player is part of the clubs plans and will remain in Germany beyond this season.
“We’re talking about a very important player for us, both for the present and future,” the Coach said at a Press conference.
“He’ll definitely will stay with us.”

Kind of makes sense I guess, they can always flog him for a princely sum if man city or another club want him

Indeed, 21 mill euros to make the deal permanent is nothing in todays market.

Must admit Gnabry is one that interests me, was highly regarded at youth level but didn't succeed at Arsenal whether that was because he didn't get the games or chances? But he's exploded at Werder. A cheeky £14m bid in the summer?

There were some rumours, was mentioned by a Bundesliga expert and commentator over here, that Bayern loaned Werder the money to purchase Gnabry. And will have some first refusal on him or an agreed transfer. Not sure if its even possible from a legal perspective. But after that I've kind of taken for granted that Gnabry will end up at Bayern at some point..

However, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger revealed in a news conference that even he believed Bayern were behind the deal. "No, we have sold him definitely to Werder Bremen,” Wenger said. “At the time it looked like Bayern Munich were behind it.”

Could be a good signing mind. He's really developed well at Werder.
