BR on Talksport in a second.

He didn't no, just praised Sturridge, Suarez and Henderson, said how great the squad have been over the last 14 months, said Sturridge is potentially world class, said the game at Old Trafford was huge, but one we need to win, usual sort of stuff really.

Just listened to that.

Love the fact he steadfastly refuses to rise to the bait set by Mourinho, instead complimenting him & City.
If we're fortunate (hood enough?) to go top before the end of the season, it'll be interesting to see how he handles it.

Hood enough? As in street? Do you think BR needs to get a mean tattoo saying thug life?

How does that buffoon Alan Brazil stay in that job? Do you remember that Bob Monkhouse gaffe:

"How's his health?"

[Embarrassed silence]

"Er...he's dead".

[Brazil tries to improvise]

"Ah, y'see, I was told two different versions".

He is a buffoon, and a pretty terrible broadcaster but I like him. He's a chancer who has snagged a job on radio. He's no real axes to grind, and doesn't seem to jump on popular media bandwagons. He's been bumming us up loads too, so I'm very forgiving towards him.

Our manager and players seem to be on Talksport a lot nowadays...

Suso is on there now and Sturridge a bit later.

Despite it being on Talkshite, it's a good sign of our products dept having briefed the players comprehensively enough to feel able to allow them to do it.

There's surprisingly few current players & managers do these interviews, & the ones who do are almost always stage managed, pre recorded & edited.

I think the club must have utmost belief in the morale of the squad & the way the players feel about it to allow it.

Our products dept? Eh?

Sorry PR dept!

Stupid predictive text!

They've been (rightly) maligned, but the handling of the Suarez affair, including releasing information through various sources, & constant media presence nationally without acting like cunts to do it, show a new level of, dare I say, professionalism, that role hasn't seen at our club before.

Whilst I hate the modernisation of the game & the media role in it, I hate more the fact the Liverpool have been flirting with playing the media but almost every time have ended up looking like cunts cos they were shit at it.

At least this feels like we're doing it on our terms & are getting something our of the bargain.

It's also gotten us a lot of favour, which in today's game helps on the pitch indirectly, cos a lot of the outlets that normally stick the boot in have been unable to. That ridiculous Sturridge article is the closest thing to a hatchet job lately, before that it was the rodgers affair, neither of which have gained traction in the media as a whole, in the past they would have been used to take the attention of the performances & distract the team as much as possible. The fact Rodgers is so pr friendly must play a big part in nullifying that type of thing.
