Boxing please

No decent yank heavyweights from what I can gather. That's why they all think "boxing's dead".

No, you're just shit at it.

At the moment, yeah, but that's hardly representative of the way boxing's been over the years.

It was a fix. Box out for a points decision without really hurting each other to ensure a speedy and, of course, immensely profitable rematch.

They both pocketed 15 mill £ so who knows.

Shite match though. As long as Haye didnt win Im happy, what a horrible cunt. Good luck in Hollywood.

Enjoyable fight to watch, but it was a boxer v a puncher. Haye just reminded me of Djibril Cisse out there, he can hit it hard but he hasn't a clue what the fuck he's really doing.

Everybody expected an excuse and when he started talking about a broken toe after the fight I thought- fair enough if he broke his big toe then he'd have a bit of difficulty during the fight. It was his little toe though.

The fact is he moved very well all the way through the fight, and only began to limp after he got beaten.

I thought it was worth it. People would moan if it lasted one round, yet wlad put on a masterclass for 12 rounds. I enjoyed it.

Not sure about this rematch talk. Wlad doesn't need it.

I thought it was a bit a shit to be honest.

Both fighters were cautious. Not willing to get hit to give a hit. Haye landed about 3 solid blows on Wlad. Wlad landed about 3 on Haye. The rest of the rounds were just Haye shadow boxing on the outside, unable to get in. And Wlad, jabbing from the outside, unwilling to trade inside.

A dull uneventful contest. Neither were hurt or busted up. It was a comprehensive win for the bigger man, because he was bigger. He used all of his advantages (reach, height and weight) and avoided taking any risks. For all his talk of KOing Haye, it was disappointing.

As for Haye. Well, he tried. But his excuse making at the end is rather pathetic. I would have had more respect if he had come out and said "look, there are reasons why I don't think I boxed well, but tonight's Wlad night and I'll give him all the credit".. but to blame it on a toe injury, immediately after the fight, makes him look weak.
The truth is, he's a "good" small man with a big punch. His boxing skill, in itself, isn't that great, but usually the big right hand is the equaliser. Wlad is a "very good" big man, whose boxing skill, although not spectacular, is a darn sight better than Haye's.. and he used it, as well as his sheer size, to keep Haye away all night. A typical W.Klitschko performance. At least his brother would have pushed for the KO once he realised Haye only had wild right hands.

I've desperately been trying to come up with some David Haye jokes but I haven't been able to because of my broken toe.

Haye was pathetic in the post fight interview talking about his toe. He shouldn't have said anything and should have allowed his camp to 'leak' it afterwards

It was doubly a pity because Haye had just shown himself in an unusually good light by giving Klitschko due credit.

Welcome back BTW.

Yeah he was fantastic!

I watched the Fury fight as well and after the 2nd round it turned into an absolute joke (although still mildly entertaining) .

Khan's really grown up after leaving his comfort zone and going to the States to train with Freddie Roach and his fitness people.

Missed the Fury fight. What happened?

Well the fight started off with a bang big punches being thrown and we looked in for a real treat, problem was they're both unfit fat lads and it was almost like they had agreed on having a 2min rest during each round. It wasn't helped by the fact that Fury was constantly waving to the crowd or raising his hands in most rounds and later on Chisora was fucking about in a similar manner.

I don't think that's a fair reflection at all. I saw more punches thrown in that fight than what would you would normally expect in 10 x Danny Williams, Audley Harrison and the rest of the British plodding heavyweights. I thought it was a really enjoyable fight actually. Yes, they were both blown in the final rounds, but half of these heavyweights fight like they're blown from round 1. It was a properly decent scrap and interesting contrast of styles.

Khan was impressive, I expected him to win & called the round too, wish I'd have put a few quid on, but he took control earlier & more decisively than I expected.

I thought they were both shagged for over half the fight personally Doc (Chisora more so than Fury), although i'd agree it was better viewing than what Audley and co usually served up (is that really saying much mind?).

I don't think i was alone in thinking it was a bit of a joke considering that even the crowd were booing during the fight.
