Boxing please

Fucking ace that was. Got on Groves at 3/1 going into the 11th round. Sweet ace.

Very funny when it went "...and still undefeated..." and DeGale went forward thinking he'd won it!! ;D

I had Degale winning it. Close, by he was always pressing the action and was never hurt. He hurt Groves a few times.

But I think a combination of the a Pro-Groves crowd and Degale being generally a cunt in the lead up to the fight swung it for Groves.

Degale had to win this decisively tonight, after all the talk and he didn't.

The wrong result in my opinion, but the best results overall for British boxing. (Groves gains the confidence he needs to be a future champion, and Degale will hopefully gain the humility he needs to be a future champion).

I had it down (at the end) as a draw or if I had to pick a winner i'd have said DeGale because of last couple of rounds but obviously glad the judges went the other way!

You're right though, ibromurph, it will be intresting to see how DeGale comes back after this. Good for the British boxing scene I say!

I'm in the states at the mo, and watched the Hpkins/Pascale fight. It is nuts that he is 46. He fought really cleverly.

I had groves by one.

I think degale lost it in the early rounds when he looked nervous and overawed by the occasion. He came back very well in the second half of the fight.

If he had thrown more punches in the early rounds he would have won but he didn't.

If I were groves I would avoid a rematch for a good couple of years as an immediate rematch woud go Degales way. He won't fight as poorly again.

ROBBED!

DeGale was robbed! Mad as hell about this

I'm sure you will get over it.

DeGale did come back very well, but I didn't think he ever quite managed to worry Groves as much as Groves had worried him earlier in the fight (at one point earlier on I was thinking Groves might actually go on and stop DeGale if he broke his heart). Close call in the end, but IMO the judges got it right.

It was a black man fighting a white man.

Who'd you expect her to prefer?!

to be honest I am glad he was robbed, not only cos I had money on the Groves but also because DeGale is a complete cunt.

A serious question, what is there about degale to 'like'? I understanding respecting ability in a certain field, but that's different from liking someone.

As far as I can tell, the man is an utter cunt.

Dave! You're back, yay

I dont support him cos he's black!

I think you guys take all that boxers say too seriously, boxers have to sell fights, it's a sport that has always had a degree of showmanship. I did think he was a bit OTT in the build up of this fight tbh, but it's all part of the game as far as
I'm concerned.

I happen to think DeGale is a very good all round
Boxer, he's still young, this was his 11th pro fight, he's got a lot to learn. I think Groves needed this win more than DeGale, DeGale will go on to be a star regardless whereas groves would have been finished if he'd lost this.

Yeah Asim that was him.

It's not just selling fights though. The man is a cunt.

Floyd sells fights, then shows respect once that part of the job is done.

DeGale doesn't seem to have a brain.

I agree that DeGale has a lot to learn. With floyd, like you say, he sells the fight but is always massively respectful of opponents after a fight, DeGale had obviously understands the selling it but not the bit that follows, but he'll learn. I think situations like Saturday are difficult, tbh I don't think I could have been graceful and done ab interview afterwards, but that doesn't make me a bad person!

You should try having a conversation with me after liverpool lose!

Amir Khan to defend WBA title against Zab Judah. Anyone know anything about this punter? It's on the 23 July in Mandalay bay in Vegas.

Did anyone see the Froch fight?

Zab Judah is a south paw and a very good one at that, he could beat Khan, no doubt

Froch went exactly as planned. Not worth staying up for.

Judah is a massively arrogant cunt. Khan is a mas...

This could be interesting actually.

Haye Vs Klitschko isnt too far off, no hype yet. Thought there might have been billboards, TV adverts and the like.

Id like to think its going to be a good fight, never seen either of the Ukrainians box.

Saw Judah take the IBF strap from Mabuza a couple of months ago. He looked sharp and scored a good knockout. Sweet Pea trained him and was in his corner. Not sure what to make of Mabuza. Hadn't seen any of his fights in Africa but he clobbered Kendall Holt into retiring on his stool.

I think Mayweather will fight Ortiz as a warm up to Pacquaio.

There are lots of exciting fights coming up, Haye V Klitch, Khan v Zab and then the Mayweather fight.

Mayweather obv.ought to win, but if he treats that fight as a foregone conclusion he may get an unpleasant surprise.

Khan v.Judah will be a war from the first bell. I can see that one ending in the very first round or soon after, though goodness knows who'll win. Put a gun to my head and I'd pick Khan, but without much confidence.

Haven't much of a clue who'll win out of Haye and Klitschko either. Possibly Haye to catch Klitschko with a bomb late on, with Klitschko leading on points at that stage?
