Borini & Assaidi VS Moses & Aspas

Taking about now. Hindsight's a wonderful thing.

Surprised by your reply to the original question in this thread because i'm nearly sure you were saying you thought Borini could be worth persisting with a few months back.

Yeah I don't mind him at all, but he's a long way behind Studge and Suarez, and Rodgers likes to keep both of them on the ground for the full 90, so I don't see where Borini would have made an impact.

During the spells where Moses was number 10, or when Sturridge was injured, perhaps Suarez could have played up top with Borini.

It was clear the Borini was not ready with us. At least he is getting game time now and I will say, Borini-Assaidi and Aspas-Moses...I dont want Moses anywhere near Anfield although he actually did decent under Benitez. To cover for depth options we already have Ibe and youngsters coming up so Moses should fuck him off. Borini can come back and help giving some rest to SAS when we play in Europe next season. Borini may not be at a level of SAS but if he can finish few chances he gets, it will be awesome like he did against Southampton

against city and chelsea when studge was out?

I've yet to be convinced by Borini.

I've watched him a couple times at Sunderland and he doesn't really stand out in any way that makes you think "wow, he can really come back and make an impact". Against Newcastle or whoever it was recently, he elevated his performance by working very hard and showing great hunger, which got the fans onside. That was great to see, but is it really enough?

There seems to be a bit of an effort (on here at least) to sell him as a player that offers "great movement" and part of me wonders whether there is an element of the emperors new clothes about it at all.

So what's the deal? Am I being ignorant with our very own Muller or is he just a bit average?

Yep. He obviously wouldn't be in our best 11.
