He's unbelievable.
Should be crowned Ballon D'or winner but he won't because he's a bellend.
My hatred of him has waned since he left the scum and now I actually have huge respect for his achievements.
A genuine question here.
Is he the greatest player in the world?
Not sure if he is but if I was giving a choice of picking any player in the world I would start with him.
He has no flaws technically and his attitude has improved every year.
He's a true phenomonan.

The 80m is looking like money well spent.

He's probably still behind Messi for Number 1 at the moment, but he's still making a case for himself to go down as one of the best ever.

Since he left Manure, I've learned to appreciate his greatness.

great goalscorer
underrated team player - yes he's a sulking pussy, but he tracks back non-stop and fights for the team
wants to get better every year
never gets injured
devastating in the air
ridiculous shot with both feet
never shies away in big games

this year, ballon d'or winner - hands down. Even Xavi basically said it.

If I had to choose either Ronaldo or Messi to play for us (disregarding that Ronaldo is a massive tool), I'd be tempted to go for Ronaldo. His physicality means he'd be guaranteed to be as incredible as he ever was in England. No doubt, Messi would be tremendous here too, but I don't think he'd be quite as successful here as he in Spain. No doubt, he deserves to go down as one of the two best players of this generation, and I suppose, one of the best of all time.

His finishing ability is digger Barnes esq. amazing quality in front of goal for a winger.

I'd have him over any player for us. Fuck Messi, Ronaldo would deliver A1 in the Prem. Yeah, he played for Man U, I get the hatred, but really, fuck off.

As would I. The horrible whinging diving cunt is worth it.

If they give us 15m to cover his wages f a couple of years I'll swap him for Suarez.

Great finishing by Ronaldo but how on earth did Sweden allow themselves to be undone by through balls like that on three separate occasions. Shocking.

Messi still shades it for me but obviously Ronaldo is one of the best players the game has seen also.

Messi just exudes quality, as does Ronaldo, but Ronaldo is a powerhouse. Phenomenal pace, power, strength, agility and finishing with pretty much any part of his anatomy. Two rare talents, impressive in slightly different ways. 6 and half as they say. . .

He's one of the best players to ever play the game, nobody can argue that.

Just a shame for him he's playing at the same time as the greatest player of the last 25 years and arguably ever.

That picture somebody posted oh him standing with his hands on hips after losing the ball as every other team mate is chasing the ball against Barca will always stand out for me.

His workrate when he loses the ball can be shocking at times.

Also a shame he is a massive cunt who plays for a team full of cunts and used to play for a team full of bigger cunts.

But yeah, he is the bees' knees. Deffo the shit. No doubt.

One thing is for sure, they're both better than George Best

*starts stopwatch and waits for Judge Jules*

I'm beginning to think that, for sheer longevity, he's almost as good as Best.

I think he's outperformed Messi the last two seasons but there's a campaign to underscore Messi's greatness with multiple successive trophies.

Ronaldo is one of the few who seems to genuinely play for the shirt at Madrid.

On a side note, I said nearly a year ago that Messi's greatness was behind him and he'd begin to fall out of the game with injuries. He may well come back from this one but he'll soon be a regular on the treatment table.

If you are using longevity as the criteria for greatest ever then Best doesnt really feature,he effectively retired at 27. I dont get the argument that if Messi or Ronaldo keep this up for another 3 or 4 years they will be up there with the greatest of all time, they have both been outrageously consistent for longer than any other player I can think of. Best had 181 goals in 474 games for Utd, Messi has 327 goals in in 395 games for Barca, by any logical measure he is miles in front of Best and still younger than Best was when he retired so the whole 'what might have been' argument doesnt apply

Last 12 months Ronaldo has been the best player around no doubt about it

I'd have to say he probably is slightly better than Messi. A wonderful player for sure. Probably one of the very best ever.

We were really close to signing him from Sporting Lisbon I believe - Only for the scummers to swoop in. 🙁

We would have had won at least one title with him before the inevitable move away.
Although I'd say ol ginsoak had a very big influence in making him what he is today.

I think that card has been overplayed by the media. Ronaldo was 18 when they signed him and every big club in Europe had tried to
get him so he was a well known talent before they signed him, his development owes more to the coaches at Sporting than it does to Utd. Its pretty obvious from any interview with people who have worked with him that hes unbelievably dedicated to improving his game even at a young age, what Utd gave him was the platform to become a star in a way he wouldn't have got at many other clubs, they built him up as the next Beckham and created a brand around him.

Ronaldo is also a credit to himself. He turned himself into a fine tuned machine.
