Our only decent defensive displays have come when Johnson hasn't played. Old Trafford on Sunday was one of those.
 
Maybe we can leave Poulsen and take Adam back with us.

Disappointing night, hopefully a few more days of training and the home support will see us pick up some points on Sunday.

So you think. We've seen Babel be just as useless as Jova countless times, and Meireles didn't exactly play on the right, at all. He was awful in a largely central role, and a main reason why so many of our attacks broke down.

You probably have a point with Johnson, but that could have proved to be a mess as well.

I've said this before this season. You can keep thinking that one shit player would be a lot better than some other shit player, but it's just because the grass is greener, and you haven't seen them play.

We lost because our central midfield is shit and couldn't make attacks or retain the ball, and our defense is susceptible to simple aerial balls, and doesn't defend the second ball. We also lost because Blackpool play as a team, and are playing really well.
 
It's going to improve. Let's give him and Clarke a week or so to settle in.

It is a shame though that the fans can't be consulted on the team selections.

Your 'better' team still contains 7 or 8 players that are just not very good. Thats why we are losing games. Its not how far up the pitch we are playing.
Its the simple fact that we had 5 world class players now we have 2 or 3.
 
Kenny must have decided before the game to use it as a tryout for some of those players. I can't believe he'd have picked that side otherwise, and I don't believe he's lost all his marbles overnight.

a) there are better options than poulsen
b) there are better options than johnson at left back
c) jove? where the fuck did 'that' come from

we could have picked a better team and we 'may' have lost be would have looked a darn sight better than the headless performance we just put in.

This is the thing. The last three managers have done this. How difficult is it to put players in the position they play best or are most accustomed to. Surely Danny Wilson or even konchesky would have been more effective at left back tonight. Kuyt should either play up top or not at all, preferably the latter. Johnson on the right side of midfield would at least give us a player in that position with a bit of pace and the ability to go to the end line and swing a decent cross in. Shelvey should have started instead of Poulsen, Kenny bottled it there i'm afraid. And as for Jovanahovic, hes so useless its unreal. Surely to god one of the youngsters would have done a better job out there than him.
