Why was Poulsen playing?
Why was Johnson at LB?
Why on earth did Jova start and remain on the pitch for so long?

Rotating the squad for more important games? Fuck that, we need points and quickly or we will go down.

There is no evil, spiteful bastard in midfield to stamp authority and show we will not be intimidated and we need one now. We need to stop bottling tackles (has Meireles suddenly taken coward pills?), I expect it from Lucas but even Poulse, the supposed DM missed tackles last night.

I'm sure it was Agger's mistake for the first goal, so if it was, fuck him off now. Injured fancy dan, who frankly is not cutting it and thinks he's better than he is. Get Wilson in now and blood him. He can't be any worse and at least he will be hungry.

Ditto Poulsen. Get Shelvey blooded and let him loose, Poulsen shouldn't get another game even if there is an outbreak of bubonic plague in L4.

It was a combination for the goal Spion. Meireles misplaced the pass between Lucas and Poulsen, Skrtel had stepped up because we were initially on the break and Agger missed the tackle. Tbf it was good play by their striker, he caused us problems all night, but it was BLACKPOOL.

Good post Spion. We need to adress a lot of issues in the next few weeks, or we're facing a serious relegation battle.

Those who say we are to good to go down are deluded. We aren't picking up points, we leak goals and we don't score enough. That has relegation battle written all over it.

Agree with all this except I think Torres gave the ball away in midfield for their first goal. Agger's "tackle" was a joke though.

Going back to the earlier bit of the thread in which I appeared to respond about Johnson and the United game, I can only surmise that something has gone awry in the thread, because I have no idea what I was responding to either. And I know he didn't play against United.

What I'm saying is that I know he didn't play against United. And I know he's only played well a handful of times (at best) this season. So I think there must have been some dark arts at work, because everyone goes nuts halfway through that thread, and I start talking about things that didn't happen, in defence of a player who doesn't merit it.

[/quote]Lets be very clear about a few points here.
1.I never ever wanted Riise to leave, and in the bitter end the ONLY other poster i remember sticking up for him with the verve i did was Brendan. I loved Riise and if you check my history you will never find me critiscising him and certainly never advocating his sale or his replacing by Insua or anyone else.
2.When Insua was breaking through in the reserves i thought he looked the real deal and sang his praises and wanted him to play instead of Dossena season before last.
3.When in the first team it quickly became clear he wasnt as up to it as he looked in the reserves, but how can you know until you try a player. That said hes still better than Dossena or Konchesky and probably more reliable than Aurelio, so after Riise he probably has been the next best weve had.
So to be clear i NEVER wanted Riise gone. I miss him greatly.
