Again, you generalise and speak of science as one entity, a fake one.
Not saying there aren't scientists who are biased and unaware of this, but I also think you underestimate the intellect and the motivation of a lot of scientists.
Aren't you a scholar yourself, in maths/statistics, or am I mistaken?
Yes. Most scholarly departments get income from educating students, from research grants, and industrial consultancy. The first two are entirely fake. The third one is real, but is a scam built around exaggerating your importance.
So let's say you are in the field of particulate engineering. A manufacturing company can't get their particulate handling equipment to do the job. So you go in, and use theories that were discovered in the 60's for that specific problem. Solve it. Charge exorbitant fees, but since the theory works and you have experience of these problems, you do solve their problem.
Research is about developing a theory for a new problem. I can do this soley because of my brain and aspergers. I can count on one hand the others who had the potential to do the same, and they were all fired. The old scientists lived in the world of the problem. Obsessed over it. Understood it. Night and day. Then used their insight to model it, make predictions and find the correct theory. The models they made are what everyone thinks of as science today (statistics, simulations, differential equations, probability theory, field theory, etc.). The old scientists didn't give a fuck about their fancy tools they needed to invent to understand nature, the point was nature itself.
What you have now is a bunch of scholars who have paid fees to be taught the tools. Then regurgitate using them. They have absolutely no idea how to obsess over a problem and make their own tools to solve it correctly. That skill is gone. So research now is "using probability theory to model pandemics/elections". Bernoulli never gave us that tool to model a fucking pandemic. Make your own tool that actually applies to pandemics ffs!!
But because all scientists are these days is experts in rinse and repeating various fancy equations and models they have become experts in, that's the only way they have to tackle new problems. They won't be tackling shit though.
(except me, I am a god damn genius compared to them)
