Big D vs Twitter

Senator Ben Sasse, one of relatively few Republicans to acknowledge Biden’s victory, signalled that it was time for the party and government to move on. He said: “Since Election Night, a lot of people have been confusing voters by spinning Kenyan Birther-type, ‘Chavez rigged the election from the grave’ conspiracy theories, but every American who cares about the rule of law should take comfort that the Supreme Court – including all three of President Trump’s picks – closed the book on the nonsense.”

I've no doubt Dantes will be the first to add his name to this !

Following the supreme court decision, the Texas Republican party chairman released a statement suggesting secession, saying, “law-abiding states should bond together and form a Union of states that will abide by the constitution”.

Of course. That's the obvious consequence of dismissing the case. If they dismissed it by saying they don't have jurisdiction, then the remedy would have been for texas to sue pennsylvania in pennsylvania's own courts. That is how I thought they'd dismiss it and lead to my jaw dropping, which itself would be a slap in the face. But they dismissed it for lack of standing, which leaves no route for texas to sue. That's a slap in the face followed by a kick to the nuts. All I wanted was the court to decide the election, in one state, to sow the seeds of a violent uprising. This is much better. You love to see it.

The Parler crowd are taking it well.

Ron
The SCOTUS has shown that they would rather save their jobs than support the US Constitution and the laws of this nation. Time to declare Martial Law

Peter
It's time for the 2nd amendment. We can no longer expect corrupt politicians to save our sorry asses . We must fight sacrifice and bleed for our freedom just like our forefathers did. Kill all that appose the constitution.

TheWarrier
Time to secede from the union. I will not live in communism

Darrell
We need Trump to invoke Martial Law and have a complete new election and let the armed forces over see it

Mike
Boycott the ga runoff. Rigged!!

It's alright, I'm sure creepy joe will call for more unity and healing which ought to do the trick

Do you win a prize?

Liverpool are top of the league.

Larne are top of the league.

Hearts are shit - but hey... Scottish Cup Final - next week.

Disney have just announced enough new Star Wars & Marvel content to satisfy my needs for years.

That bottle of Shiraz I just opened is fucking lovely. (B Minor Grampians Shiraz 2018).

Actually... the bottle of Soave I cracked open is nice too.

As is the selection of craft beers I picked up - I’m particularly looking forward to the nitro infused “Magical Christmas Unicorn Ice Cream Beer” that’s getting smashed later.

And #onetermtrump is merely adding to my sense of merriment. (I don’t know if that’s a hashtag.... but it should be).

Now - I’m not sure what prize I may have won... but I’m sure it’ll be lovely and sweet.

Much sweeter that the salty tears of defeat, I’d imagine....

How about them apples Dantes!!!!

You forgot his second term (the federal prison one)?

They're quite nice, although I may have added a bit too much cinnamon. Which does hurt me to be honest, I am a genius when it comes to powder flow and ought to have been able to dose the precise amount which I intended to.

I might sue the supermarket. When they sell a bottle which is too small to effectively put a tea spoon into, but is just a screw on top with no shaker attachment, it's a deliberate ploy to make you use more of the product than you need, so that you go back and buy some more. I would have standing, and I'd win this case. I could even invent some medical ailment I have suffered due to a cinnamon overdose, and really make them pay.

At least increasing the number of executions is some sort of legacy after pretty much failing on everything else in the last 4yrs.

He even broke some tradition where the executions are stopped during the handover. Probably because he thought there wasn't going to be a handover.

It's odd for sure. But its trump. So nothing surprises me. Maybe he thinks all the attention will give him some air cover for that one court case victory he craves.

I would really like to know if Trump honestly believes that his accusations of fraud and conspiracy are real, and he is fighting the good fight, or does he know that is all bullshit, and this is a strategy to try and hold onto the office.

Initially I would have thought the latter, but the more I see how things are playing out, I'm not so sure, I think he honestly believes there is a massive conspiracy.

Trump really is a fuck up of the highest order, he was the leader of the free world for 4 years, he had all that time to put people and systems in place so he could swindle the election, and he stupidly thought he would actually win legitimately, and if he happened to fall short, he could tweet enough bullshit to reverse the situation. He is not even good at being bad, pathetic. His mentor, Mr. Putin must be so disappointed and ashamed.

@dantes, I'm curious what your thoughts are on the claim in the suit filed by Texas that Biden had a less than one in a quadrillion chance of winning the election.

Some economist named Charles Cicchetti did the statistical analysis, and it is all laid out in the lawsuit, starting on page 20.

You're all about maths and numbers, do you agree with the analysis and conclusions of Ciccetti?

This clears it up ... numbers just pulled from the air :

Oops wrong one - that was Trump failing again. Here it is (rabid Demo but he tears the claim apart easily enough) :

Oh wow, 1 in 1 quadrillion to the 4th power! Logic in its purest form, that number is so small is it essentially 0, meaning Biden actually had a 0% chance of winning the election, yet he somehow won. Clearly something is amiss.

It would be a lot funnier if I knew there were not so many people who were buying it hook line and sinker, and being that I am a native Texan, many of these people are probably friends and neighbors.

Still pretty funny though.

It was laughable. The irony is had he done the analysis even with a remote semblance of accuracy, Biden's numbers blatantly don't stack up.

Dude, so how is it being in Texas where so many seemingly reasonable people are falling for this total horseshit? (I'm from Massachusetts where it isn't even a question.) I like Texas, but there are too many underinformed people. Are you getting any secession vibes?

Why don't you show us the evidence then Dantes? You show us the maths that you reference above. I'll wait.

Its all good here, business as usual really. I can not imagine any real serious succession talk or action, although I am sure there are more than a few Texans who are onboard. But remember this is Texas, at any given point in time the average Texan, myself included, is pro-succession, if for no other reason than we are Texas.

Things are still as friendly and cordial as usual here, most folks make it a point not to get into the discussion in any way, which is the way politics have usually been treated.

I should point out, I am in Austin, which has long been an island of blue in a sea of red, but I get out to the country quite regularly and from what I have seen, everything is business as usual.

And ... Trump loses yet another one (Saturday) ! The fun goes on. Anyone know the score now ? 1-55 or something ?

In Wisconsin on Saturday, the US district judge Brett Ludwig dismissed one of Trump’s latest lawsuits there that asked the court to order the state’s Republican-controlled legislature to name him as the winner, whereas in fact Biden won Wisconsin on his way to winning the White House.

Even as Ludwig said Trump’s arguments “fail as a matter of law and fact” an attorney for the president, Jim Troupis, was busy arguing in another case, before a skeptical Wisconsin state supreme court, a lawsuit that, if successful, would disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of voters in Wisconsin’s most diverse counties, Dane and Milwaukee, where Biden won.

Trump is not challenging any votes in Wisconsin counties that he won.

“This lawsuit, Mr Troupis, smacks of racism,“ the justice Jill Karofsky said to Trump’s attorney early in his arguments.
“I do not know how you can come before this court and possibly ask for a remedy that is unheard of in US history … It is not normal,” she added.

One of Karofsky’s fellow judges in that case, where a decision is now awaited, pointed out that Trump also did not make such challenges when he won Wisconsin on his way to the White House in 2016.

... and wait .. and wait ... and wait ...

Keep waiting. If you want to know why you're waiting, then I would suggest that you explain klopp's tactical approach to a six month old baby, and the answer will reveal itself to you.

Refuse to answer the question.

Old Dantes: did its best to explain complex things to anyone who asked.

New Dantes: *checks whether person asking is hot and latin*
Next Dantes: sorry mate, good luck figuring it out yourself.
