Best OT memory

With the biggest away fixture of the season coming up what's your favourite memory of playing Utd away?

I know many will go for the 4-1 win but that was very bitter sweet for me. Thumping Utd is always amazing but considering we had already blown the title it had a very sour taste to it for me.

I'll always love the 2-2 draw when Fowler stole the show on Cantona's big return with two sublime goals.

One involved planting Neville on his arse before chipping the keeper from 10 yards. Genius.

But I think the stand out for me was Danny Murphy silenced his critics and OT with a magical lop with 6 mins left to give us a 1-0 win for the 2nd year running.

Always had a soft spot for Murphy after his brilliant debut at OT when Owen got sent off a few years before and was delighted for him.

Took my father-in-law (to be) there in the late 80s, when he was over visiting us for a weekend.

Match wasn't particularly memorable - think it was 1-1 with David Speedie scoring on his debut, but afterwards the old man, who had lived his life in Strabane Co Tyrone, with the last 20 years at the height of the troubles, said he had never, in his life, witnessed such hatred.

Made me so proud 🙂

24th April 2004, what a day.

Woken at 5am by a phone call from our Mike, telling me my niece, Olivia had just been born.

Outside Stanley park with just one mate at 10.30am to get on a Barnes Travel bus to take us to Old Trafford. We were one of the last there so got stuck on the last bus (a little 15 seater). We couldnt have been stuck on the bus with 13 worse people. Some of the biggest scallies following Liverpool. Knew there and then we were in for a bumpy ride (Literally). As soon as we got going they were on the ale and the coke, and were basically a fucking nightmare. Had about 3 piss stops so they could go on the rob. Its only an hour Journey but felt like a fucking day. Me and my mate just sat at the front saying fuck all.

Rock up to OT anyway, going up Mancunian way towards the away car park. The Scallies decide to start doing Airplane gestures at the passing Utd fans, singing Munich songs and everything. We were only going about 5 mile an hour cos of the fans milling around everywhere so this was fucking dangerous. Next minute the bus started rocking and there were about 50 Mancs surrounding it, banging on the windows, trying to get in the door at the front and the double doors at the back. The scallies were well up for a scuffle, I just wanted to go the fucking game! The Mancs actually got the back doors open and then the scallies piled off and started fighting, I was fucking shitting myself just sat there at the front with my mate and the driver. It was my first trip to OT as an Away Liverpool fan (I'd been a few times for cup semi's etc) and I really feared for my life. Luckily the Bizzies got there and broke everything up. The Scallies weren't seen again but me and my mate were allowed to get in the ground. Thank god.

Anyway, we won 1-0, Murphy scored the Pen. I had £20 on Liverpool to win that day, 4/1, so picked up a ton when I got back home.

Went to see my new born Niece in the evening.

And what Made the day even more special was that it was our Marks 18th Birthday. So a few bevvies in the night were had.

What a day, I'll never forget it. For very different reasons!

4-1 at Old Trafford

The long bouncing ball that Torres pounced onto and then powered past Vidic...one of my all time favorite goals.

Yup fantastic game and all that but for me it was Dennis Law's backheel for Man City which relegated the cunts. gives me a little tingle every time it comes up!

I think I was there for that one. I think it was early 1991 in fact. Steve Bruce scored a penalty. I share your in-law's sentiments. Never experienced such hatred. Magical.

Ha cracking story.

I can't believe Steve Bruce was their designated penalty taker for a while. Always found that a bit random.

Fabio scoring that free kick. Me and my mate were screaming in the pub "let fabio take it!".

The net bulged and chaos ensued
