I'm sure I'm in the minority, but i actually like David Pleat.
If you ignore the ridiculous pronounciations, he actually understands what's happening on a football pitch.

Me too, he isnt bad at all and he isnt biased, alan green i also like, stuart hall is genuinely funny and Hansen is the best pundit.
Lawrenson is a cunt but he does speak his mind albeit with his ego dripping out of every word. That Dunphy is just a cunt schlagging off all and sundry for the rise, sadly his United tendencies mean that i usually end up hating the wanker.
Occasional commentators I cannot fucking stand include Trevor Francis, primarily for his anti - Liverpool bias.
I don't mind the dull tones of Alan Smith, except when he is commentating an Arsenal game against us.
As for Gray, I don't mind the fact that he is biased against Liverpool because at times he lets his enthusiam for the game and sporting nature show through he is a good commentator.
Clive tyldesley is fine, Jon Champion is like having Le tiisier on the mic.... i fucking hate Jon Champion he is the embodiment of all thats wrong with commentators at the minute. I think to a degree Dunphy is to blame, in order to make English football commentary less bland and more opinionated a la Dunphy i've noticed that there has been a marked move away from actually saying what is happening and reporting in an unbiased fashion towards the situation to where a commentator almost continually puts the on field happenings into some wider often completely twisted context. It wasn't Champion the other night but i was infuriated by the commentary of the league cup game against Arsenal, the script was Arsenal have a team of up and coming undeniable brilliance and Liverpool are in crisis, despite actually being the bettter team and playing most of the football we had 90 minutes of scripted rhetoric.
