That's not my memory of us playing best last season, it was the few games Sturridge played. When sterling played upfront in games we looked devoid of any sort of goal threat.
We also went on a 13 game unbeaten streak.

32.5m?! FFS.
I hope I'm proved wrong, I hope he's an incredible striker who fires us up, but I think I he's massively overpriced.
If we were playing 20m I'd be reasonably happy. As it is were paying almost top level prices for a mid level striker.
If we pay 32 million for him then our transfer committee needs to be disbanded Unless we win finish top 4.
Who cares if he's overpriced if he's the best striker who's willing to come to us

He missed 10 league games last season through injury and 12 league games the season before! Aside from the injury concerns I think £32m is way over his true value. £20m maximum IMO and even then with some reservations. I still maintain Charlie Austin for £15m is much better value.

He has missed 20 league games in 3 years. 12 of them because of a serious injury (achilles tendon).
There is no concern about his injury record imho. The problem is the fee and how Rodgers will set up the team, iow fit him into the side.

Liverpool are set to meet Christian Benteke's £32.5m release clause
Rodgers took the number of new signings at Liverpool to six last week when he paid Southampton £12.5m for England international right back Nathaniel Clyne.
And he shows no sign of letting up with Villa’s Belgium international the next player he wants to arrive at Anfield.
Benteke, 24, has scored 49 goals in 101 appearances since arriving at Villa Park from Genk for £7m almost three years ago.
He has since emerged as a target for Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool - who are set to win the race with Benteke setting his heart on a move to Merseyside.
Liverpool have struggled to replace Luis Suarez since he moved to Barcelona last summer and Rodgers believes Benteke could provide the goals they've lacked since then.
Benteke is poised to be Rodgers' seventh summer signing and takes Liverpool's spending past the £80m mark.
How Benteke could look in a Liverpool shirt
Roberto Firmino James Milner, Danny Ings, Joe Gomez, Adam Bogdan and Clyne have already completed moves to Merseyside.
Meanwhile, former Reds defender Glen Johnson is in talks with West Ham over a return to Upton Park after he was released this summer.
Sherwood has come out and said they're not going to sell him.
Good.

He had a bad knee injury about 4 seasons ago which kept him out for about 8 months (I think) but since then he's hardly missed more than a handful of games. However, he did fail a medical 2 seasons ago whn Hull tried to sign him.....but whatever the supposed problem is hasn't led to him missing many matches since.I thought Charlie Austin had an even worse injury record ? I may be wrong.
