Barrett saying we've bid 32M for Alex Teixeira...

It is a shocker. Because he's a cunt if he moves there; a vapid, greedy cunt. He's 26. Would Luis Suarez, Steven Gerrard, Torres, Messi, or Ronaldo have moved to China at the very peak of their footballing careers, simply for the biggest pay cheque?

Would they fuck. Look at all the players who have at that sort of peak footballing age. Yep.

His alternative is living in the Ukraine though. All those other cunts you've mentioned live in LA, Barcelona, Madrid, etc. This cunt's marooned in some Eastern European fuckhole.

Imagine being one of the world's most sought after footballers and your options are staying in Donetsk, moving to fucking Liverpool, or eating dog in Jianjing or whereufckingever for the next 3 years. Shit luck that.

Well, I think that they will sell more than a million genuine shirts and a lot more knock offs. The genuine shirts won't cost more than €10 or so IMO. Then they will earn more money on other off the field stuff.

You don't know any Chinese people and have never been to China, right?

Has he actually signed for them yet? If he has, looking back on this thread is hilarious. I was so thirsty for Teixeira, we all were, but then he fucks off to China!

"Let's put it like this: everyone always knew that I wanted to stay in Europe and move to the English Premier League club," Teixeira said.

"But, unfortunately, all the proposals that came from them, were somewhat windy (tentative) and did not contain anything concrete. Now I have received a serious offer from China."

Did Ian Ayre fart on Teixeira?

I'd never heard of Suarez before we were linked with him.

That said I get the point like, I'm not upset by this at all. Perhaps he'll move from China & set the world alight in future & I will regret it, but in the meantime I'm glad we have cash in the bank for what should be a better market to shop in.

The only players I've heard of are too expensive, or would never play for us, or are not good enough.

Yeah, and like cloggy, I like the idea of Klopp signing boss players I've never heard of.

I'm not going to lose any sleep over not getting this chap for 40m though.

The Chinese league is funded by the state to increase the quality of the league so they can be prepared to offer insane fees in the future.
There was talk of a 50 mill £ bid for Oscar.

I saw someone say that its not fair that these clubs arent under FFP. They should be as the clubs that receive these fees are.
The league is .. the clubs aren't. They are all privately owned, most by huge companies. However many of these Chinese owners are majorly cash rich.

We stayed at a friend of my wife's hotel over New Year Eve, he has over US$100m of his art collection on the walls, really very very cool, he & his wife bought the hotel (one of three they own) simply as a way to display his art. Incredible,

Even putting aside the issue of fake shirts, the idea that a random Brazilian from Shaktar could sell enough shirts to cover 50M....

An amazing tale of socialist triumph and proof that a country can have equality and also economic prosperity

"Everyone can equally get fucked, we're making money!"

It does make me laugh when people roll out the "name one Communist country that is successful?" line, given it's likely to be the biggest economy in the world soon.

It also makes me laugh that it's a Communist country that in some respects actually probably gives the closest approximation to embodying a 'pure' free market

At least one with 'Chinese Characteristics'.

China is the most capitalist country I've ever lived in (or seen). There may be miles of red tape but very little to actually stop you doing business ! And if there is just ignore it.

The ones that got away...

Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Willian, Mohamed Salah, Diego Costa, Yevhen Konoplyanka, Alexis Sanchez ...
And now Alex Teixeira.

Imagine the side we could have had.
