Balancing the midfield

Arn is clearly a troll account created by an existing poster in this forum.

The style of writing is just not consistent.

Anyway, I have reached zen state when it comes to the most physical player in our squad. I have managed to not post anything about him...i think the turnaround for me was when it dawned on me that Klopp realized him for the shit player that he is, and avoided putting him in midfield at any cost. It is no coincidence that the two seasons where we have looked like winning anything meaningful, he has been either benched or discarded from the squad altogether.

There is zero utility he can provide to our squad anymore......not even as a bench player. Time to sell.
 
According to whoscored.com he is our 6th best player

Yes, I'm a troll. You are called a troll here if you defend our players so I'm a troll. I think that it is time to sell some of our members. They are not worth anything so please get rid as soon as possible. I don't think any other site want them but it is worth a try.

I hope you're right about that but I'm not confident that it would, not in the short term anyway. It'd be a start though.
 
Do we need a DM? I think Can is basically making that position his own, we need another dominant midfielder who's creative I think.

I'm not sure Henderson and Allen have enough in them to be Klopp ever-presents, though I'd personally like both to stay as squad players for now. Milner's versatility, workrate and assists make him a player you always want to find a place for.

I agree about the Milner/Henderson thing though, I think they're too similar, we could do with a bit of quality alongside Can.
 
Judging by Klopp's history I think it's a no brainer that we'll be playing a 4-2-3-1 next season. I think Firmino is pretty much guaranteed to play in the number 10 role, and I think Coutinho is guaranteed the roaming left attacker in the 3. I think we'll look for a pacy player for the right of the 3.

The big question is the midfield 2. Can is likely to be a regular when fit - but in what role? Does Klopp see him as the defensive mid or the more 'box to box' number 8 type? This will dictate what type of player we buy for the midfield 2. I think our biggest investment will go here. And when it does, it begs the question of what happens to Allen, Henderson and Milner.
 
That being said, it is a squad game. So the likes of Lallana and Milner will be critical. Hopefully Allen too. I just don't see how Henderson will be a first team regular to be honest.
 
If we Lucas is sold this summer I hope we replace him with Camacho from Malaga
 
Thinking about last night, and I was wondering how we would have fared if he had Gerrard, Alonso and Mascher in midfield?
Milner for all his effort cannot compare to Gerrard
Lucas despite all the statistics is not even a shadow of Mascher
Henderson for all his vision is no way near the level of Alonso
