i'm not sure it makes FFP sense to spend £30-40m on a glamourous signing to get back maybe £2m a year in extra shirt sales.

Not if we weren't interested at all, but we are interested in some very pricey players, so the difference between very good, & 'marquee' is not so much & you wanna factor that in.
