Saw Kenny at the airport after the game, I think he was going back to Scotland but I was late with my own flight back so didn't have time to check. How he managed to beat us back to the airport after the game, I'll never know.

I am a bit concerned though at the lack of fight we've seen over the as 2 games, there I've said it.

I hope we bring in some quality and Kenny gives some lads the hair-dryer.

Well, tbh I dont think the owners and Kenny are to disapointed about the last 2 games. Not getting Europa league football wont have an effect on targets, and you dont have to play thursday - sunday.

Focus on the league.

I don't think getting into the Europa leage will affect signing good players - if anything I think not being in it will ensure we do sign some good players as highly skilled pre-madona types don't really want to travel to azerbijan in winter on a Thursday night, and its probably embarrassing playing in that league IMO. So perhaps Kenny just showed he could do the job - get the contract and told the boys - to cool it off against Spurs and Villa. I don't know about what happened in todays game but having seen the spurs game - there was a sharp contrast in performance between that game and the game at the cottage against Fullham. I am really hoping the loss to spurs was due to managerial instructions and not the inability of our players to compete with Spurs.

You honestly think Kenny instructed a team of his to lose?

It's hugely positive that these defeats will show the owners we need new talent and investment. I wasn't liking all this talk that we didn't need to change much. We need 4-5 marquee players min.

I never want us to lose but defeats in the last two games may have a good knock on effect in the long term. the run we were on people were getting carried away with the quality of this squad, which lets be honest is pretty mefiocre. We need to be ruthless in the transfer market this season and those last two defeats will have removed some of the gloss which would have been unhelpful in sorting the wheat from the chaff this summer. In the long run a bit of realism regarding the quality of some of our players is a good thing

Spot on mate. The fulham, city, brum games especially would have made a bogus impression of a team not needing change. Kenny and Steves comments of late have been alarming on this score..

Im hoping thats an attempt not to show our hand too early in the transfer market and keep things behind closed doors for now. City will get stronger again this year and Wenger looks like the penny has finally dropped with him so the top 4 will be a massive ask next year, the squad we have currently are not up to the task, some big changes will be required. That wasnt necessarily obvious after the Newcastle/Birmingham/Fulham games but it should be after the Villa/Spurs matches

I wouldn't put too much emphasis on those comments, we were trying to get the best from a limited squad that was low on morale, so it was exactly the right thing to say. Behind closed doors I'm sure they've more than made clear that the squad needs a revamp.

Correctamundo. The chances of weaknesses in our squad being apparent to us but not to the King are somewhere south of zero.
