ASHES - 2015!

Nevill gets away with one there - poor decision by the ump - Stark should have been given lbw last night too!

Not quite panic stations yet but Aussies down to 9/1 to win. I still think this will be over shortly after lunch though.

According to BBC the last time England had 2 players take 6-For in a match was the 1981 Headingley test (Botham and Willis).

Anything over 130 lead could put England in a spot of bother especially when Lyth goes early as usual. Aussie 9/1 to win on betfair now.

Last five wickets scored 172 between them - so nothing wrong with the conditions and this total should not be a problem normally, however this is England - specialists in snatching defeat from the jaws of victory!

And breath!!! Never in doubt, don't know what all the fuss was about, Aussies get a shoeing and have ( almost ) all the problems now. Well played England the bowlers were magnificent and could have taken 20 wickets a lot quicker than they did,I can't remember a match with so many edges and played and misses. Also well captained Cook I thought. And an end to the lie win the toss win the game!

What an ace test. It was a privilege to be there in the Hollies stand on Wednesday. From the first ball they looked on top. The loss of Jimmy is huge though and will give a boost to the Aussies.

Red, all we need to do is bat well and we will be fine. They need to worry about their ownbatting bowling and wicketkeeping problems. I wonder what Mike Newell the groundsman dishes up - I hope it's not the road we had last year -Anderson got 80 odd!!. I am going so really looking forward to it!

Yeah I know - There is no denying the Aussies have problems. The Lords debacle aside they have mainly looked gash. You'd have to say the Neville change has worked for them. Massive improvement on Haddin.
Anyway bollocks to them. Roll on Trent Bridge! 😀

I wonder what changes will be made for the next test. Australia will probably bring in Shaun Marsh for Voges. England - Lyth or Hales? Probably Lyth. Wood for Anderson? Could Plunkett be considered? How about Buttler - with Bairstow able to 'keep? His place could be in danger to Taylor. My view is that Wood will be the only change - and that an enforced one.

I like the idea of dropping Buttler to get Taylor in on his home ground. He is out of form with the bat and not the greatest with the gloves, Bairstow is a better keeper for me. Catches win matches we need to snaffle each chance we get.
