we have no Europe and are only five points off the top. Couple of really good additions and we have a decent shout at the league. If we don't strengthen this month, it's gonna be a huge ask to win it, and looking at the chasing pack, a much less solid chance of CL next year than some seem to think.

The squad is stretched and we could do with at least one player coming in - preferably an attacker.

Was the Gabigol link ever real or just made up bullshit alongside the Lucas to Inter rumours?

I think it was the case of the player being unhappy with lack of playing time at Inter and together with his agent exploring different options – return back to Brazil on loan or move (on loan or permanently) to a team in a different league. Surely those stories came from the agent, not our side. It seems in the end they chose a sensible option of staying at Inter and fighting for his place. It would make no sense for a South American to go to England if he can't even adjust to life in Italy.

I'm not really expecting us to do much "exciting" transfer business this window, but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised?

From all the myriad rumours flying about it would seem that quite a bit of the moves are centred around the clubs who are struggling (West Ham are so desperate to get Jermaine Defoe back there's been talk of a £15m bid!), managers who are looking to make signings that for whatever reason didn't happen in summer (Koeman being one who seems eager to make up for that) and managers who want to get shut of a few squad players.

Maybe it will all go totally bananas closer to the end of the window, as desperation takes hold, but so far it doesn't seem very exciting.

Not directed just @ you Froggy but JESUS, it's january. Not bloody April. Will people stop gifting chelsea the title because they are on a good run. Do it in Late March or April. Until then, they're one Hazard sloppy moment, or Sideshow Bob minute away from a dropping of the points.

No need for the caps, pal, I'm not deaf.

Signed Jesus.

i'd take Defoe

LFC have done a deal with Reading to sell them Tiago Llori for £3.75 million.

A small profit on the acquisition price of £3.5 million.

Markovic, Aspas, Ilori, Alberto, Cissokho... ...

Julian Ward did quite a job scouting them (as did the committee which gave the go ahead to sign them).

He's everywhere!

Will Klopp give Markovic a chance? Surely there's something to be done with the lad's talent... (hopes)

He's given no indication whatsoever that he will. The first clue being sending him back out on loan a few weeks after he returned from his previous loan.

And from any reports I've heard he hasn't been covering himself in glory whilst on loan. The only thing to be done is to recoup a fraction of the stupidly inflated fee we paid for Forrest Gumpovic.

How did we get this so wrong. I thought we were supposed to have got better at buying. Jaysis.

Hahaha - Gumpovic sums his playing style up perfectly. To think we paid double the deal Chelsea were offered - utter madness

Markovic will eventually leave on a free i reckon. He is terribly shit. I forgot he existed until 2 mins ago.
