Please someone sign up this boggle eyed twat so we can all move on.

I came in here to say exactly these words.

Half of Serie A is waiting until the last minute to shaft us.
It's like an ebay auction with no bids yet and the time left ticking down. You know there are loads of watchers, and you know at the last minute a load of bids around the same price will arrive all at the same time, just when it's really too late to get the items real worth.

I say take him back for a season and sell him next year or in January (assuming we want to) , when we have him more in our grasp and we can conduct the sale properly.

I agree Vlads. Most likely on August 31 we are going to get multiple offers to take him on loan for the next year with an option to buy at 9 million or something ridiculously low.

I hope Aqua comes back.

Swimming against the tide, huh?

You're gonna drown, just like I did...

Alberto Aquilani has provided more Premier League assists (6) than Luka Modric (5) since August 2009.

Rafa would love this. Fact.

Me too

FUCK OFF AQUIFANNY

😱 I thought you were a fan of his, mate.

I'm with Vlad on this - I think we'll get shafted royally the way things are going just now.

Bring him back - if he's poor in the next 6 months he's still not going to drop his price much below 8 or 9m - which is where the figure is heading just now. Who knows, he might even do well under Kenny and increase his value.

I heartily agree. You also have to factor in all the money we'll save by being a hard arse and not a soft "35m for a player" touch in this market. They're all betting we'll take this one on the cheek. No thanks.

I suppose Danny and Fabio will be getting lonely on that treatment table, so yeah, lets bring Aquilani back. 😉

Agree with this.

I also think he's not going to be content just plucking splinters when Euros are next year.

Agreed with Geno
Where did you hear this mate?

I think he's just saying he agrees with Gene.

The problem with bringing Aquilani back is that he wouldn't play with Gerrard and Meireles blocking his path into the side.

If I shared your confidence about his price not dropping I'd have agreed, but I'm afraid I think that confidence is misplaced. Juventus signed an agreement for a fee which they then tried to chisel downwards even after Aquilani had a boss season for them. If his value does drop after a poor six months back here, so will whatever we can get for him.

It's still a gamble worth taking, because we cant take a 12 million loss on him.

I just wish someone would liquify him, bottle him into 20 milk bottles and leave him outside Rafa's door step for him to guess what the milkman brought him.

But it's all moot.

It's going to happen; last year Kenny wanted Shelvey, this year he wanted Henderson, and Adam still looks possible.

Aquilani isnt coming back in all likelihood.

I don't think he wants to come back, he made it pretty clear when he signed for Juve on loan that he was glad to be back in Italy.

Its hard to tell what has been going on behind the scenes...

I get the vibe that Aquilani would be more than happy to make a name for himself in England.. i personally believe that we have done very little in terms of trying to convince him to stay and as such his options are limited. Juve probably got wind of this and its why they started to play tits and balls.... i think most had their doubts when we were first linked to the guy.. his injury record and limited physical ability were always going to make it hard for him in England. I get the feeling he struggled to adapt with the rest of the squad.

Id personally like to see him given a go.... Some of the football we played under Dalglish suited him perfectly.. His physical ability and poncy nature wont matter when defenders cannot get near him because we pass the ball so quickly.. Some of his passing and technical ability is out of this world.

why sell him for 8 million??? We would be lucky to get a player with 15% of his ability for that price.. If we want to continue to play beautiful football we need to keep the likes of Meireles and Aquilani and occasionally look beyond physical ability.

I'm starting to think any move for Adam is dependent on getting rid of Aquilani.
From a business point of view - bringing in Adam before getting rid of Aquilani is daft..

his value would drop through the floor when we highlight he is 5th or 6th choice.

Completely agree with Gareth in so much as I could see him being exceptional at times in behind Suarez and another striker. No reason to offload someone who obviously has talent for a ridiculously low fee.

I've seen very little evidence of his 'talent' and i really don't think he's Kenny's type. He won't be back.
