Aquilani comments on future

According to Gazzetto its done.

1 year loan with option to buy for 8 mill €. They have to buy him if he plays 25 games...

Might be a 'problem' if its 25 LEAGUE games. Also wander if it includes substitute appearances. :🙂

Seem to be all competitions, and some are reporting its 20 games. Will be interesting to see.

He'll get fucking crocked 2 games in. We're destined to end up releasing him

Alberto Aquilani will fly to Milan on Wednesday evening ahead of his move from Liverpool to the Rossoneri.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, terms have now been agreed between all parties and an official switch could be just 24 hours away.

The Italian international, who spent last term on loan at Juventus, will have his medical on Thursday before putting pen to paper.

The player’s agent spoke to Milan earlier this week and he’s now concluded negotiations with the Premiership outfit.

Aquilani will arrive on a loan deal, but Milan will be forced to buy him outright for around €6m should he play in at least 20 Serie A games for the San Siro outfit this term.

“We’ve signed a player with great quality,” noted Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani. “He’s the right man for Milan.

“Our transfer market campaign has now come to a close.”

Massimo Ambrosini has welcomed Alberto Aquilani to Milan, but warned that nobody can substitute Andrea Pirlo.

The latter left the Rossoneri over the summer to join Juventus, the same club who opted against signing Aquilani outright following his loan spell.

However, the midfielder is now on his way to San Siro after an agreement was reached with Liverpool.

“Pirlo can’t be replaced in terms of his character and personality, but it is unjust to make comparisons,” Ambrosini told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Andrea marked an era here, but whoever replaces him can do well by interpreting the role in a slightly different way.

“Aquilani will be useful because he has different characteristics to the midfielders who are already at the club.

“He played with consistency and recovered his fitness at Juventus. I don’t see a reason why he wouldn’t do well here.”

The former Roma youth product is expected to officially complete his move to Milan at some stage on Thursday.

Sadly, there is talk of a 1,75 mill pay off

Cnut. Say what you like about Masher but he put his own money up to help his deal go through (as did Fibreglass recently), not like this chiselling tw@t.

so its €8m upfront and another €6m next summer if he triggers the clause by making a set number of appearances. €14m for him is a pretty good return, and crucially it means Mereiles will not be going anywhere

Where did you hear this?. Nothing up front and £2M per year for 3 years starting next summer is what I read.

Think its just a loan with with AC Milan covering majority/all of his wages and option to buy for €6m, which will be in 3 annual installments of €2m each if exercised.

THANK FUCK.

Now lock this bastard of a thread.

Until 10 months from now when this silly deal will haunt us. Italian international was a snip at 13. But 6?

He's a very lucky lad. Roma, Liverpool, Juve and now AC Milan after his playing record over the last couple of seasons.
"I am delighted to have arrived here," said Aquilani. "This is a leap in my career.

"I have come to Milan to do well.

"I have different characteristics to (former AC Milan midfielder) Andrea Pirlo but this is a further responsibility for me.

"I believe I can play in all positions in midfield.

"The clause of making at least 25 appearances? It's not a problem for me and I'm not thinking about it.

"I will do everything possible to earn the trust of the club."

"a leap in my career"

Fuck off you useless cunt. I hope never to see you back at our club again in my life. You're a fucking vagina that we struggled to give away. Enjoy jumping out of tackles in that wank league you cock.

But if we lock the thread where will people keep posting throughout the rest of the season about how well he is doing, and how we should have kept him and how we could still recall him? Especially on the days when we haven't won.

The New Fucking Topic button might come in handy occasionally.

Anyway only 53 more pages needed before we can lock this bad boy. Get cracking.

"
Throughout the entire process, his only desire has been to play football and he has put this ahead of any other considerations and at personal cost to himself. We wish him well for the season ahead."

Yeah, but those lads wouldn't be on big money compared to the other lads.

Insua is on quite a bit isn't he? Didn't he have a move collapse because of his wage demands?

I don't know or really care much about Jones. I thought he'd left to be honest!
