Latest rumours from Italy is that the deal is close. A loan fee of 1 mill euros and if Fiorentina want to make the deal permanent they have to pay 10 mill euros next summer.
We wont pay Aqua anything, and he'll earn less money over there.

IF this is true, we're going to have the same ridiculous scenario next season aswell. If they cant afford 11 now, why should they have the money to pay 10 next season. They're not good enough to get CL qual either.

I think he has really forced our hand here with his desire to move back to Italy.
It's still shit though, it's just the Juve scenario over again, we get him off the wage bill yeah but I'll wager now that in 12 months time he won't go to Fiorentina for £10m.

My thoughts exactly. We obviously havent got much to bargain with, as the player wants to return home. Its shite, really shite.

Yep agree with this. We've fucked up royally with this transfer from day 1 as the wonky eyed one has just never seemed interested in playing for LFC. Complete waste of money.

Lets kill the cunt. Theres bound to be some insurance protection?

Can anyone answer me on why he agreed to sign for Liverpool in the first place?
because rafa wanted someone who performed a similar role to alonso whilst plaiing higher up the pitch. his injury took longer to heal by which time we were in a crisis and so couldn't blood him into the team and when he was finally introduced, whilst showing great touches of skill and movement was an absolute PUSSY going in the other direction. wasn't trusted in the middle and then moved on by hodge podge.

I can 'kinda' see why he was signed and if he were stronger in the tackle would've established himself long before now.
I agree, but my question was about the player himself.

Why the fuck did he agree to sign? It's been pretty obvious from the moment he stepped foot on British soil that he's never wanted to be anywhere but Italy.
Rubbish..

He was happy here.. He has been treated like utter shite since his move..

His agent has prob been told to look for possible clubs by Comolli/Kenny.

I dont get why people have a chip on their shoulder when it comes to Aquilani..
Yeah, you're probably right. It's not like him and his agent have been banging on about his "heart being in Italy...etc" for the past year or so. And to be fair, once he recovered from his initial injury he played through the pain barrier a good few times for us.

Poor lad. At least he won't be looking for a golden handshake from us, or any such cynical bollocks.

Well, lets wish him all the best. Sometimes you spunk 18m on a player and for whatever reason he just doesn't settle. All the best Albert, we'll remember you fondly.

I really don't know why we're debating Aqualani when there's much more pressing matters to debate such as the suitability of Lucas as a first team player.

He may well wish to leave, but if we're not going to receive a fee then the club should stand firm and hold onto him until we receive a proposal worth listening to.

Someone should start a new thread and hijack a few others just incase no one sees it.

Don't start me on Lucas. He's the worst kind of player; Gives his all, never hides, loves the club and never injured.

I hate those type of players.

Anyway, poor Albert.
Who's this Lucas you keep being on about sunny? He sounds amazing
Signed a while back I think mate. Young lad who apparently played in this years Copa America. That's about as much as I know. Keen to no more about the lads strengths and weaknesses meself. Probably would make a good thread topic.

He's supposed to a tenacious midfielder who scores lots of goals and has silky skills, typical Brazilian type really.

Well, given what we've seen of Aurelio I'd expect nothing less.

We'll end up sending Aquilani out on loan 'with a view to a permanent deal' every summer from now on until his absurdly long and expensive contract finally ends.

Italian clubs are most probably just laughing at us, and quite rightly. What a mess.

This time next year he'll be back and he'll have played a decent friendly and people who know no better will rate him our second most important / best midfielder.

Skysports.com understands Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani's proposed move to Fiorentina has fallen through.

Liverpool and Fiorentina had been locked in talks over a loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer for the Italian international.

However, Aquilani is believed to have stalled on the move as he would prefer a permanent deal rather than another loan switch.

Fiorentina were unwilling to meet Liverpool's asking price for a permanent deal for the former Roma man and the move is understood to have collapsed.

Aquilani spent last season back in his homeland with a loan spell at Juventus, before returning to Anfield earlier in the summer.

News of his move to Fiorentina falling through is a blow to Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish's transfer plans as he was looking to trim his squad and free up some funds by offloading the likes of Aquilani before the close of the transfer window.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
What a fucking shambles.
I guess you cant blame Aquilani for it given he lived in Rome in 2009, Liverpool in 2010, Turin in 2011, i doubt he wants to move to Florence for only a year then have to move again.

Was a rumour on twitter last night that it was about to collapse, but that there could be an 11th hour bid from someone else.

Fingers crossed. Aqua cuntface.
In this instance i dont see what he has done wrong? Why should he accept a pay cut to move to ANOTHER city with no guarantee he will get to stay there?
We expect too much.
Personally given he doesnt fancy it here or/and we dont want him then we have to hope its sorted out, but i dont think we should expect him to be fucked over on our behalf.

IF its true that he has told the club and Kenny that he wants to return to Italy, then I for one think its very strange that he wont accept a return even though its an inital loan.

There must be other interested clubs interested if he decides against this move.
