Anyone want a paid for streaming service?

As I've mentioned a fair few times on here, I use a paid for streaming service called starstreams/smoothstreams (they actually have about 6 domains but they're the most well known) which was a nightmare to get an invite to as it's so damn good.

They've now added even more servers & upgraded their systems so are taking on loads more customers. This has always been impeccable, very rarely, if ever buffers even on HD streams & has all matches with English commentators. The HD streams are all US based through nbc etc, theres usually a sky/bt UK one in sd when it's also shown in the UK.

Fabio signed up a few days ago using my referral as did someone else I'd promised one to, but they've now extended the time it's open.

If you want a referral link let me know.

It's £21 (approx, works it out in foreign currency) for three months.

They have a kodi addon with epg, plex addon, roku/nowtv app, android app & it works in html5 so you can watch on ipads & iphone too.

They show almost every sport you can think of & have some us channels running 24/7. You can have three different ip addresses watching at one time.

This isn't their usual lottery invite system they do once a year, if you get this referral link you can be watching it as long as it takes you to sign up & pay.

If I don't know you from Adam don't bother asking, anyone I refer needs to be trustworthy enough not to be abuse the service by over sharing as it may well get me banned if someone I refer gets banned.

PM me if you're interested.

Thanks FFF. I've got a paid for service currently and it is pretty reliable (unlike LOF that hasn't allowed me to renew for 18months) will send you a PM and trial to the end of the season.

Ah fuck. They've just sold out. What a fucker, they had 300 left half an hour ago.

Sorry guys. I'll lock this now.

ah bugger

FFF, when another becomes available, please let me know.. I will defo have one... (if you have any invites left)

Thanks

Jon, we use the old LOF. Can't believe it is still working fine. We're you not originally in on that?

He was.. I was..

I'm currently using a friends LOF subscription *coughs* because Footy Report (sister site) went to the wall ages back..

@FoxForceFive keep me in mind if any more of those invites come up
The one I use currently is decent but it has had a few issues of late

What's the legality on things like this? I've always wondered if consuming these services is breaking the law, or if it's only the provider that's in the wrong?

In the UK it's only the provider that's doing anything illegal.

However, the big disclaimer is showing copyright material to an audience without the copyright holder or broadcast provider's permission. That is illegal.

It's also the reason for the premiership logo being used extensively in the last few seasons in broadcast. Replay transitions, in the scoreline ticker, & the music at the start too.

It all gives the authorities enough scope to prove copyright breach in pubs even if they cover the channel logo etc, broadcast rules are actually kinda archaic & don't cover it.

Btw, that also applies to streaming tv & film. Thanks to the recent EU ruling about 'transient' material in a coding copyright case it effectively legalised end user streaming, which is nice.

That's pretty much how I always thought it was (and 100% believe how it should be), but it's very hard to get a straight answer on the subject, probably because they don't want people to know there's nothing wrong with watching a internet stream of a game. The one area i'm still not sure about is p2p streams though, do they classify as breaking the law as you're technically a contributor?

Yes. All p2p sharing implicates you.

You know how until a year or so ago (when the copyright police very much switched focus) you'd see headlines about someone downloading a game being fined thousands of pounds?

When you look into each case they were all done for distribution of copyrighted material. That's cos that's all you can be done for.

Cos you become part of the distribution process when you use any p2p service, if you get caught then you can be done for that offence.

The main reason I download almost everything from usenet is for that reason, it's one way traffic so I don't distribute, which makes it not only almost impossible to identify me (it's all encrypted), it also makes it almost impossible to prove anything to the degree needed to get a warrant, which as the only way to prove an offence is to examine my hard drives to show duplication of copyright material (unpacking & restoring compressed files is duplication in the eyes of the law), means there's millions of much easier softer targets out there. Namely anyone using torrent sites.

Offside Streams seems to be one to avoid

@TheYid009: @SmoothStreamsTV the fella is a parasite, your judgment was right to steer clear of him.

@Gills4lifeMark: @TheYid009 @SmoothStreamsTV to right pack of thief's when cancelled sub they went on a £600 spending spree on my card. #wankers

I wouldn't be comfortable giving any of them my credit cards details.
Paypal or similar is the way to go

I wouldn't use any illegitimate site with anything but PayPal or another large escrow style company, that would be beyond mental.

Tbf though, I've never come across as such site or organisation that didn't use PayPal or skrillex etc.
