Just booked return flights for me and my boy anyway - this will be an experience for a 12 year old. Do I try and bunk him in - he will deffo earn his strips doing that.

Fuck yeah. The amount of people I heard from who strolled into the ataturk without a ticket afterwards was insane.
You could get there & find organisational chaos & be able to just bundle on through.
Worse case scenario you share a taxi back to the nearest plave with big screens or screens outside & watch with the other fans who didnt get in.
Fuck that, I have a ticket he can learn to fend for himself

A few Irish lads I know were successful. 2 out of 3. Hardly scientific like
Ah you'll be sound then, no way you miss out. Try to blag through without getting checked by following the scallies then taking advantage of the stewards having to deal with them & get through then.
That fails pass the ticket over & then ask your lad to hand his ticket over, then look shocked & angry that he's lost it, he'll go red & cry, everyone round you will urge the steward to let him in & you'll be through. Sorted.
That’s what we did in Istanbul, worked a charm, one of the lads still has his ticket - not checked and in pristine condition
Yeah should work. Failing that no one will believe you'd take a kid the game with no ticket yet have one yourself, so you'll be able to blag them he lost it no problem. Esp with thousands of fans around you to deal with.

Before you will decide to stay for free at somebody's home ( yes that's right, lots of kyivites really want to help) just think of talking with this person via skype + you can ask him\her to provide photo of their passport and send them photo of your passport too. Because hosts are worried about their apartments too (football fans are scary sometimes)))), so I think there must be respect from both sides.
The most safe taxi is Uber, Uklon, Veterano Cab ( there are apps that you can download)
The last one by the way is helping veterans of the war that happening right now - so there is a social aspect here

Loads do but a lot pass them back. Same as fans selling them on to other fans face value really. I wouldn't want to charge another fan over the odds so it's not really any different if they don't have any mates who can afford the travel either.
