Anyone else see any irony in the captain applauding the protest yesterday?

No.

Players get paid too much, you can hardly blame them for that because its the clubs who pay.. OH no sorry Mr.Chairman i know ive could get 50K more at another club but im not sure we can afford it really so pay me half that and ill be happy.... fucking doolally trite nonsense...

There is absolutely no irony whatsoever in our best player applauding the fans for making themselves heard.

As in it is not ironic.

At all.

These footballers are paid that much as the demand is there; we talk about the top players and their obscene wages, but we forget the tens of thousands of players who'll never get that kind of money, because they will never reach those levels of success.

That's the price to pay, I guess.

Having said that, there have been many examples who've made tremendous financial sacrifices for their clubs, and I'm not sure they should be knocked.

With UEFA bringing in restrictions on wages, I still think there will be ways to ensure the top players get the same, or even more.

They'll just get a bigger slice of the available wages, squads will get smaller, and useless average twats will no longer get ridiculous wages, because they'll have to subsidise the star pay-packets.

Yup, and I imagine clubs will allow their top players to spend more time promoting products, etc.

It's been encouraged at Madrid for years.

I still cannot fathom how you're partially blaming our skipper for the crippling debt that those two cnuts have attached to the club, because he's collecting a huge wage...

It's like blaming your top salespeople for making commission on the sales they make, while your CEO diddles the retirement funds.
