Anelka charged

We don't know the outcome, so it seems premature to moan about the FA disciplinary process.

Given the FA conviction rate is something like 99.5 % I think the outcome is pretty easy to guess.

As for looser rules with each case judged on individual merit - I think all that does is allow the FA to manipulate a charge to suit them and will ultimately create confusion for players, managers and fans alike.

Are we all totally convinced the gesture was anti-Semitic ? There seems to be some debate around it. Not that it'll matter the FA will twat him with a ban regardless.

Here's where the signs are most commonly done:

I think some may do it because of their 'affection' for the twat of a comedian, but this 'salut' comes from a Holocaust denying, filthy anti-semitic twat of a human being ... I strongly doubt, considering I've heard some of his shows, that it's meant solely as 'anti-establishment' ... and many of those who do it are hateful twats themselves (Note: I don't know if Anelka is)

Ok, looks anti-Semitic enough to me. Thanks for the info

As I said though, I don't believe all who do it are anti-semites. A lot to do it for the same reason Anelka gave - Dieudonne is very popular on the French street (and probably only getting more popular now). Looking at pictures though - you don't see it being done in churches, or mosques, or even government buildings ('establishment' I'd say) etc ... People are getting photographed doing it in the places related to the Holocaust, or around Jews (not that Jews haven't been photographed doing it btw!)

You know it's always baffled me why the Jews are disliked so much by some people. It's pretty mad.

that guy doing it in front of Auschwitz.... I hope the other guy looking at him ran over and punched him in the back of the head a second after it was taken

I would much prefer the three twats in front of Anne Frank's poster to be slapped.

I don't have any reason why, perhaps because the twat on the left looks like he plucks his eyebrows.

Most people have no idea what it was ... However, a few Jewish teens got arrested for finding some of these guys in france and beating the shit out of them. Pussies I tell you.

I wouldn't have known what it was until it was brought up on here. I find the Auschwitz photo ridiculous, when you visit those sorts of places there's always a somber and very respectful mood, doing that takes a special kind of arsehole.

Is anyone getting in trouble for posting photos like this? People always seem to be getting in trouble in the UK for badness online.

Anelka is planning a series of goal celebrations in honour of his comedy heroes. The next time he finds the net he will seek out a little bald-headed man and pat him repeatedly on the head whilst saluting and blinking, as a tribute to Benny Hill. Then, after his next goal, he will put on a fez and collapse, to mark the memory of Tommy Cooper. Then he will do a nazi salute, a black power fist clench and goose the ref as an homage to Russell Brand. That should take him up to March 2018 by his current scoring rate.

I'm torn by this. The comedian has despicable views, but what is at stake is freedom of expression and such action gives oxygen to ignorance. More worryingly it is part of a larger trend of political correctness that UEFA have been championing. I hope we have not gone down the slippery slope.

Political views have never been tolerated to be fair. Remember Fowlers Support The Dockers t-shirt ?
