Allen

You only have to look at his first run in a red shirt when is he in "that" role and teams pressure and harass him. He bricks it and start fucking up

He was superb in his first run in a red shirt actually. In the holding position. Check back last year's MOTM thread - Allen's comfortably leading the pack till Game 14 of the season.

It was interestingly only until Lucas came back into the side that Allen's struggles began.

I'd keep Allen over Lucas, because he's younger and doesn't have the benefit of a Spanish manager who would gladly pay double figures for him.

No he won't.

No he won't what?

Just for the record, I think Allen has the potential to be a very very good player, but I think he'll end up going at some point, at a loss, due to the fact Gerrard is blocking his progression. Gerrard is undroppable, and I think he's in the role he needs to play in.

Yes its lucas' fault that he panics on the ball and cant pass the ball 3 yards when pressured. Also that he gets mescled offf the ball in every 50/50.

Gerrard will be 34 before the end of the season and has given no indication this season of being undroppable, at times he has looked one of the weaker links in the team. Moving on younger players to accommodate Gerrard at this point in his career would be incredibly short sighted

Depends on the younger players IMO. I like Allen and have really wanted him to do well but, the way things have gone, you have to wonder if he's what we need.

He doesn't look like he has the personality to cut it at a top club. He'll be a star at a Fulham or WBA though.

I've been a fan and I really do feel for him as his confidence has been shattered, but that was really poor today.

Yep. Terrible all round. Glaring miss, potentially cost us the points and heaps further pressure on Joe. Could have been a nice kick start to his career here. Booked straight after it and then subbed.

I thought Suarez was was going to hit him after the miss.

Thought he was pretty good bar the miss. What a difference that goal could have been for him.

That's what I thought, too. There were worse players on display in midfield such as Henderson and Gerrard, and perhaps, Coutinho.

He's an excellent footballer, and played well today. But I understand the need for a scapegoat, so thankfully he missed that chance, otherwise we'd be forced to analyse why we conceded 3 and could have conceded 20.

I like Allen. I think he's a classy footballer, and had a good game today. I hope to see him thrive in a Liverpool shirt. But that was a horrible miss - and would probably have won us the game.

He deserves to get shit for missing it and it cost us 3 points. He has to take that on the chin.

Decent player but not good enough

Nice diversion. 20? Don't be such a fucking drama queen. It was a shit miss that cost us.

Your other favourites Lucas and Johnson continued with the same old shite aswell. Go and lay into Flannagan though.

Get all precious because one of your prized bets proves how shit he is once again.

Bless. Fuck off.

Allen is poo and I told you all this a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away.

Brendan made a mistake and I hope he's realised it.

Nothing against the lad like but he's not good enough.

To be fair, I thought Allen did OK until that miss.
Brendan's mistake was to sub Lucas, pretty much giving Everton an invitation to dominate the midfield even more.
I thought Hendo was worse than Allen.

I also thought Allen had a decent game. He did nothing wrong of note up until the miss. However, he didn't exactly set the place alight.

But missing that chance cost us 2 points. At 1-3 we would've had it in the bag. Fuck him. The cunt.
