Thiago / hendo comes into midfield and fab plays with vvd at CB and we just alter our building from the back under pressure and higher line to allow for Adrian ?

Adrian is more than capable of stepping up and proving his worth over the next month or so

He’s not. He’s really not.

I’m flabbergasted that there’s still supporters with anything but panic associated with Adrian.

I’ve said it for ages, he’s that awful mix of mediocre talent and inflated self concept. In a keeper that’s a walking disaster. He’s proven that over and again here, and at West Ham previously.

What?? He's garbage mate. He's going to fuck up our season

Maybe reports of our interest in Ugurcan Cakir last season (despite the potential hefty fee) wasn't entirely without reason then?

I'd almost rather we put an up and coming keeper (Kelleher) in goal for this period for the experiecne he'd gain if we are going to just allow errors like the ones we saw.

I think Kelleher has a mistake in him like Adrian but is much more comfortable with the ball at his feet.
Either we change the way we play to accommodate Adrian's weaknesses or we play Kelleher I reckon

What's David James up to these days?

Probably.

And at least there is a future benefit from Kelleher getting the game time if we end up keeping him in the squad.

How can anyone watch that and think he's good enough to be at Liverpool.

He's the same level as Karius.
I was making that same point during the summer and was shot down.
I think the debate is over on whether he is adequate back up now.

It just annoys me that Jurgen has thrown away 2 possible CL titles, because of his stubbornness with proving everyone wrong about his GKs.

Everyone knew about Karius, before the CL final blunders. And most of us knew about Adrian too.

This team is 2.5 years into a probably 5 year window where should be competing for top honours.

We can't afford to waste opportunities of winning stuff whilst we have this talent around because of a glaring weakness in goal. Possibly the most important position on the pitch.

Can we play Milner in goal instead? Just hammer him with training for a fortnight. He’s handy near enough everywhere else on the pitch.

Are there any decent keepers in the lower leagues?
Window still open for 2 weeks for transfers with EFL teams isn't?

Perhaps Pesam can shed some light

Unfortunately, Klopp is stubborn when it comes to these things, and I don't think we will replace Adrian till next year.

Logic might suggest we're looking at the problem the wrong way round. If reserve keepers are likely to be far less able than your first choice keeper, and your first choice keeper is out so often as to expose that difference out on the pitch, then maybe the solution is actually to get a top keeper who is more likely to keep the reserve keeper on the bench.

Obviously Becker is a brilliant keeper, but we can't expect to cope this season and the next one and the one after that if he's going to keep getting injuries. FSG aren't going to pay the transfer fee and the big wages for a reserve keeper who is good enough to start. That makes less financial sense than to sell your first choice keeper for a big fee and then shop around for a top class replacement.

That's unlikely to happen, and so it looks as though we just have to hope that (a) Becker suddenly gets tough, and (b) Kelleher progresses quickly enough to take over from Adrian.
