Corriere is hit n' miss but if this has ANY truth to it, we should be bidding that and then sum yesterday.

According to @Corriereit, Lyon have lowered their asking price for Alexandre #Lacazette to just €30m (£21.2m).[/article]

He probably would come to us with the right wage packet (he wants Champ League footy - which he can have next year if he signs with us) ...

Come on Ayre ... Asier and Alexandre and this would be a fucking brilliant window.

What's his contract situation? Barring that I'd say a player with his record, at his age and versatility, and given the great shortage of younger top class strikers, should fetch £40m.

He'd probably come to us if we offered him £150k a week, problem is the moment we did, City, Chelsea or United would show their hands and he'd go to them.

Chelsea are signing Falcao - and have Costa and Traore, who they're crazy about.
City have Kun, Bony & will have that Raheem lad soon enough.
United are definitely a rival if that is the fee.

is it really too much to ask that we just replace him directly? were we not gonna buy anyone good if we didn't sell sterling? the owners are getting a free ride by selling our best players.

He was who I wanted last summer. If there was even a tiny chance of us landing him then we should go for it. Don't think there is. We should at least try though.

He's an excellent young striker, but given how half of Europe would be willing to bid for him just goes to how limited the striker market is at the moment.

I think the Echo reckoned a £30m budget.

Which probably comes from £20m + £4.75m for Assaidi, plus £1m for Suso, plus savings from Johnson's and Gerrard's salaries.

+ Coates + Balotelli/Wages + Borini + Lambert/Wages ...

We should have 35 million or so.

Well I'm saying £30m is the 'budget' independent of normally recognised incomings, so let's not confuse matters.

Any players we sell this summer, Coates, Sterling et al, will be added to that £30m.

You're the one being thick, as per, we're spending £29million on a player and you're calling it mid priced. Try not to be thick.

No he's saying we'd only be signing mid price players if we weren't selling Sterling, and that us selling Sterling is the only reason we're signing Firmino.
