Adam Johnson A Nonce

What a mockery inducing comment for a lawyer to make.

Why ?

It's a presumption of innocence he's entitled to. There was enough evidence in the reporting to rebut that presumption.

You had to be wilfully stupid not to see that

Yes, of course. One might say almost inevitably. Although interestingly, when I brought up this 'why us' phenomenon with my brother at the weekend, listing all of the improbable and unlikely scorers against Liverpool, the players who reserved their best (only) goals for us - Casiraghi, Vardy from outside the box, a fucking beachball, that twat from Fulham with the mask, Forlan, Jagielka, Silvestre, the list is endless - he seemed equally certain that it was an Everton curse, and listed an equally impressive bunch of unlikely non-entities and ill-fortune.

Mind you, they're not called Bitters for nothing

What about that Charlton Athletic div, Lispie or whatever his name was, scored a hat-trick against us and never scored again.

Did I ever say he was? I just wanted to wait for him to be proved guilty before condemning him, now that he has lets hope he gets sent down for a few years.

We've seen enough similar cases in recent times where the case has been thrown out. So in retrospective it's right to wait until we know some level of facts before condemning. Its too easy to say in hindsight "it's obvious he was guilty". And I think the "paedo" jibe is one of the worst I've read on here, for what? For asking us to wait to hear the facts

As you say, let's hope he gets his just deserves. But this could have been one of those cases where it didn't get any further and we could make two assumptions from that:

  • There wasn't enough evidence.
  • The prosecuting party is trying it on.
Either way, for anyone involved in these cases, you've either got a figure who's relieved of all charges but forever viewed with suspicion, or someone's rightfully investigated and forever viewed with suspicion. Once an alleged paedo, always a paedo.

But like I say, it's easy gloating in hindsight, but anyone who would do that is just being a bellend, right? There's a 15 year old kid on the end of this who (if anyone wants to get moralistic about it), is the real victim who's barely had a second thought. Even if she's a 15 year old who's been really fucking stupid, she has a family who are as much the victims now. I know that's how I'd feel if it was my daughter.

I'd rather be the bellend gloating about being right than the bellend ignoring the obvious all along, while making ridiculous posts and being wrong too.

Obviuosly feeling sorry for her, depends on whether she was 15 and 1 day or 15 and 364 days though. Do we what age she was exactly when it happened?

I'm sure that wasn't really my point either, nor that I was agreeing with that sentiment. I think people made stupid posts, Ross included. Like I say, I feel sorry for the kid and her family regardless of age, circumstance etc. She's a young kid who's obviously had some vulnerability targeted.

It looks like he's admitted to kissing a girl of 15, knowing she was 15, and grooming. The more serious other 2 he's denying by the looks of it. I'd guess his top of the range expensive lawyers will get him off with the other two, and he'll be charged for those 2 minor offences? Can't see him getting too much punishment for that, they let off a lad for raping a 5yr old the other week:

Christ you chat some shit, I said hes probably guilty but I'm going to wait until hes proven guilty before condemning him as its too easy to falsely accuse someone these days and get only select evidence online. There's nothing wrong with that, in fact it's an entirely logical stance to take, you're just dragging your agenda into yet another thread, give it a fucking rest.

People are clearly missing that this post above is a very funny callback to one of Froggies arguments in the original thread.

Opening Johnson's trial, prosecutor Kate Blackwell QC said: "It is the crown's case that what has brought the defendant to this courtroom is a sexual desire for (the girl), an excessive arrogance and an unwarranted level of expectation.

"He has abused his revered position in society and, having met (her), this 15-year-old girl, at Sunderland Football Club and later on social media, and knowing that she looked up to him, made a conscious decision to act in a way that he knew was both morally and legally wrong."

Johnson made plans to meet the teenager to give her a signed Sunderland football shirt, the court has been told.

The victim suggested a quiet car park in County Durham as a place to meet.

Johnson asked “Your friends won’t know will they?”

Ms Blackwell reads out some of the social media exchanges between them.

The footballer asked her: “You in the last year of school?”

She replied: “Year 10”.

When discussing New Year’s Eve plans on December 31 the teenager told him she was going to a family party, the court hears.

“Are you allowed to drink?”, Johnson asked.

He also asked the 15-year-old: “Where do you go out?”

She said: “I am not old enough to go out haha.”

Johnson replied: “You look old enough though.”

The teenager told him: “No one believes I am just 15.” He asked her when her birthday was, the court hears.

The pair began to exchange messages on Whatsapp and the prosecution says that over the course of the New Year the defendant was made aware that the victim was 15, with almost another year to wait until she became 16.

Uh oh .... this is looking awful

But it does through light on the crucial information

How the fuck is he so stupid. If you want to get away with sex with a minor, you need to do it in a club. This whatsapp rubbish is so newb.
