Not sure if we've done this usually grand spectacle of a thread yet where everyone can feel free to highlight their wet dreams (only football-wise @Woland, cheers) of how our squad will appear come next Season - if not here it is.

No strings attached just a plain and simple game of Football Manager - you are the manager with a large wallet to boot - let's say £50M + whatever you can raise from transfers.

Also, you are of course a top-shelf negotiator that can persuade anyone to come here Champions League or not - if you can afford the player he'll be yours.

Finally when you see a fellow posters grand master plan including a player you completely forgot existed, you are fully entitled to go back and change yours so you incidentally end up with the finest crop of players and the most potent team gathered in Liverpool since the 80's ready to aim for the Prem title of 16/17.

PS Matip and Grujic has to be in the squad. That's about it.

GO!

I just don't think people have the motivation to pick fantasy squads anymore.

.........................................................Donna/Ming...........................................................

Clyne/Gomez...................AC/Lovren................Matip/Sakho...................Moreno/Smith/Boilesen

...............................Kante/Henderson/Milner......................Can/Grujic/Rossiter..............................

Firmino/Ibe........................................Firmino/Coutinho..................................Griezmann/Forsberg

...................................................Sturridge/Origi/Ings........................................................................

I don't think we can expect a title tilt next year to be honest no matter which way we buy and sell come Summer, but we have to build now for the future seasons as well with Klopp at the helm. This team should be able to compete for a top 4 and with another 3-4 additions of top, top quality over the coming 1½ year we should have our title push ready for 17/18.

PS I know Donna might be too young but he looks a rare goalie talent and I'd love if we could actually find a young keeper somewhere good enough so we'd be settled in that area for years. It's one position where we really shouldn't be chopping and changing each Season.

PPS Boilesen is just for a bit of fun really - fast, skilled LB that has been completely sidelined in Ajax after actually having the captaincy. The reason, he didn't want to extend his contract and now he'll move on a free come Summer - the talent is there, not sure about the physique but on a free he'd be an interesting punt.

Your fantasy football XI still maybe has Mignolet starting ?

LOL

Also is Andreas Christensen that brief case wanker you were touting the other day ?

That's a lot of money for potential ...

ALL IS RELATIVE.

Lallana was about the same and so was Sakho. Age is just a number it's all about talent and knowing he's owned by Chelsea and playing like a boss in the Bundesliga already he's not going to be cheap.

My plan is though that he'll be our defensive anchor for at least 10 years, so that's actually only £2.5M a year.

"No grazie" to Donnarumma, not after the "honour guard" of Aquilani, Borini, Dossena and Balotelli.

No. More. Italians.

Creative accounting?

Ok, scrap those, forgot he was on loan. Why isn't he playing btw?
Guess he's crap and also why should we? Everyone is back and there's probably some kind of fee involved if we use him.

Absolutely. My point was that we didn't need a substitute striker any more, hence Caulker's lack of appearances. 😉

Snide comments doesnt help.

I'd sign:
Götze
Hector
Karius
Dembele
Xhaka
Lacazette

That wont happen obviously but we'd have a great team. We could possibly manage 4 out of those 6.

I dont really know enough about football anymore. I dont watch it nowadays except for us and international football tournaments.

Its crap.

I hope we sign the good players you all like and win the games and stuff.

Where's this year's list Oncy? You know the Herr Onceared list of player we need to sign.

I'd sign:

Zieler (Hannover 96): playing a good season but nevertheless getting relegated with Hannover - should be no problem to get him

Dragovic (Dinamo Kiev): centre back in the mould of Agger, only 25 years old - could be a bit pricey but I think he would jump at the chance to play for us

Xhaka (Borussia Mönchengladbach): just what we need - one of the best defensive midfielders around and wants to play in England; would be expensive though

Götze (Bayern Munich): not sure if Bayern would let him go or if Klopp would want him

Icardi (Inter Milan): not the best work-rate, but a clinical finisher

The whole Maxi Lopez / Icardi thing is a bit weird though. Makes me think Icardi is a bit mental.

No Goretzka? I remember you seemed to be pretty positive about him. Has he regressed this season?

Also, and not specifically aimed at you - interesting that Leroy Sane's not on anyone's list despite the attention he got here and I think the positive responses when we were first linked.

I did consider Sane but aren't we talking like £40M - £50M for him?

A large chunk of our wallet but again, maybe worth it if he really is as good as he looks to be.

Well, I still like him and think that he's got all the attributes to be a great footballer. I might have missed the point of this thread because I thought it was only one player per position and took Götze instead. I'd still sign him in a heartbeat though.

The only downside is that he's had problems with his shoulder recently and missed some matches, so it will be interested to see how this pans out.

Sane isn't worth the money that he's going to cost. So I'd stay well clear.
