Agreed. A masterfuck. But if I were a fullback, then the throw in would have happened instead of Valencia bombing on. And I would have closed down Fletcher even allowing Neville a free run to the byline. End of story for me. 2 simple decisions. Simple.
Agreed.

Regardless of what people thought of todays goals, Insua was out of position for what I would conservatively say was a quarter of the game (so was that bread basket Kuyt, but that's for another thread), that shit's just asking for trouble, and he does it every fucking game. It may also be partly why some have bemoaned Agger going missing in recent games, he's always running out to bail Insua out of the shit. Young or not if you can't at least hold your position and clear your lines when it comes to it, then you're not a fucking defender and certainly shouldn't be playing 40 games for us in a season (thank you again Rafa for another position you neglected to buy for).

Well...tell us why you trust him then?

Don't get me wrong I was one of the longest members of the RCDNW bandwagon but once you see his faults, they are so glaringly obvious, stubborn and predictable. I begin every match with renewed hope that he'll do what he did last season against Real Madrid onwards and I thought he'd seen the light of his ways but pre-season was a disaster and we've never recovered from such a poor start.
It wasn't just his fault for the 2nd goal though.

If you have 9 men in and around the box vs 4 of them, one should be able to head the ball away.
Not with a cross like that. Almost impossible to defend against a ball like that in the box.

Take away Reina, Masher, Torres, Gerrard 🙁
Yes, please do. 3 are Rafa buys and Gerrard has been cajoled into not leaving by Rafa. Without those 4 who would we have? Biscan? Cisse? Baros? Kirkland?

I rarely like to have a pop at posters but FUCK ME! Those 4 would walk into any, and I mean any top team.

FFS, start banging a different drum, and try and make sure it makes sense first.
My point which you missed is that we haven't nothing without a four world class players.

Take Rooney, Ferdinand, Berbatov and Fletcher out of Utd and at least they still play football, everyone one of them. Same style all footballers and all with a winning mentality.

That's what he promised us at xmas.

Time to walk away Rafa. 10 defeats in the league with 7 games to go.

Take away Reina, Masher, Torres, Gerrard and the workrate of the team in big games and you have f*ck all to our squad after 6 years in charge.

7th is now a real possibility :'(

Oh and Insua was shite for both goals, why the f*ck would you stand off Fletcher who has no chance of skinning you if you get tight, and with Gary Neville's crossing as it was let him cross from the by line.

Disaster of a left back. Imagine if Ronaldo has been out there.
Neither goal was Insuas fault. The second one he had no option but to drop as Neville overlapped and he was faced up by both players.
He should have got tight, Fletcher was never going to go to the byline and if Neville had managed to get there and whip in a dangerous cross so be it.

the first goal was his faut as he could have siply headed into touch, i agree with the second goal though, if insua have stayed where he was and neville recieved the ball and crossed people would say 'why didn't he track the runner?'
Im not saying he was great, but his loose header doesn't result in a goal if a) agger was where he should be b) mascherano didn't foul Valencia c) Webb wasn't shite etc etc. The goal wasn't his fault. Why not go back 3 minutes before that when torres didn't cut out the long ball and blame him. Bullshit.
Going back that far is futile however Insua's was the first fundamental error.

Yes I agree Agger was poor, I think Masher had no choice and it definately was a pen.

As for the 2nd, you can only track a man when there is someone covering the immediate danger and there wasn't leaving Fletcher acres of space to whip in a cross.

if that pull back was Lucas or insua they would be getting fucking flayed for it.
The fact he's been one of our best players means he's cut some slack I guess Andy.
I don't know many players in Mash's shoes that wouldn't pull him back. It's a split second decision. Agger was more at fault

Whilst agreeing that Agger and Mascher weren't the sharpest in allowing what happened after Insua's header to transpire, it was a simple header that any half-decent schoolboy would have delat with better than he did.

He's utter rubbish, and had he just gotten the basics right on that header, nothing bad would have happened. Mascher was forced into a split-second (poor) decision by the sheer ineptitude of a $50,000 a week "professional" football to handle the simplest of tasks. Again.

Sorry all, but I think that Insua should take the lion's share of the blame on that one. Just like Mascher should on the first at Stamford Bridge earlier this season... Some mistakes are just soooooo ridiculous, they're nigh on impossible to recover from.

Err, I think you've got this one wrong, amigo.

Rather than championing that we get shot of them, I read him as saying that those lads are ALL that we have, and that without them we'd battling to make the top half...

As horrific as this season has been, fact is Rafa will still be here next year.

I dont know what to hope for.

The RCDNW brigade will be happy, but what then?

I think if we don't get 4th Rafa will resign. The only way I can see that not happening is if we win the Europa.

Given past experience I suspect G & H are already sounding out contenders for the Managers job.

he'd be absolutely crazy to resign, and i highly doubt H&G would sack him. a new inestor might be more inclined, i suppose.

Why is it a fact Rafa will be here next season?
It isn't; if he resigns.

If he doesnt, then I can think of at least 20 million reasons.

Given his insistence on 4th place I don't think his pride will allow him to stay.

I'm sure we'll read about it being 'by mutual consent' the euphemism used for a negotiated settlement, e.g part of his remaining contract paid up in exchange for his resignation.

Take Rooney away and they would not still be in the title race. My opinion, obviously.
