It's a little sad, isn't it.
I think it's embarrassing.

i wonder what those marketing guys were thinking when they released it.

"I have a brilliant ideal! How about a paper that has all those nice numbers about little mickey here? I'm sure that will change the minds of those bossman of them big fancy clubs that have those scouts who do nothing but watch matches and drink tea all day."

Seeing as it was last week & some posters havent seen it, I'll leave this up.

Why not merge the threads you lazy git...

Far too much effort. I'd have to press, like, 4 buttons to do that. More importantly, that thread took a decidedly anti-Owen stance & got a bit nasty, which is out of order really.

In reality, I think all the threads started in relation to this subject have had a degree of gloating in them.
Shame really.

Hard not to gloat when we look at the extent he is going through. Though i would still like to have owen back as a back up striker on back up wages.

Ha, I love the way that whoever made it up only had a pool of about 4 photos of Owen actually fit and playing for Newcastle.

I'd be more than happy if we bought him in on a free though.

I didnt know you could buy someone for free!!

Ha, "Michael has played for 3 of the most famous club teams in world football; Liverpool, Real Madrid and Newcastle United."

Heh, I also like how it can be translated into Spanish and Italian, then on page 27 says "Michael realised he was unahppy living abroad and wanted to return to England."

Maybe to make the reading experience better for Rafa Benitez and Carlo Ancellotti.

I do feel a bit sorry for Owen having to resort to this. Its a total embarrassment.

How he must regret deciding to leave us

The second best known English player in the world? I think not.
Agreed. Were it not for his injuries at Newcastle, he would be shown to be nothing but a one-trick shooter, a Walcott without the speed.

to be fair I think owen's global recognition is greater than gerrard's. I think the '98 wonder goal will forever be burned in the mind and memories of the masses.

as for the brochure, I think no one will be more embarrassed by it than owen himself. rewind just five years and there would have been a queue for his services without the need for self promotion.
good saying - 'self recommendation is no praise'

That reads like a shitty school project - very embarassing.

Do Premier League managers really need to be told who Michael Owen is? That he's a "global Football star"?

Let us visit a parallel universe, in which my Client's career didn't fall off the rails. In that universe, he would be right up there with Ronaldo and Torres!!!

the doctor's report is absolutely laughable - 'oh never mind he missed the better part of a year and has continual injury problems in the past, NOW he is fit and rearing to go...honest'

to be fair someone may take a chance and owen may reward them by actually being injury free, but that is a 100,000 a week gamble

In this part of the world, Owen has become a has been. Beckham a fading fashion model. Gerrard and Rooney are the better known English players now.
