Any thoughts as yet?

I've been a bit preoccupied by a heavy work schedule but am catching up with a lot of the transfers, takeovers, injuries etc and will put a few suggestions in this thread later today.

I backed 2 players as top goalscorers in the Championship last season Vaughan @ 50/1 and McCormack (unforgivably I forgot to advise of this bet on here!) @ 60/1 and at one stage they were the top 2 goalscorers and McCormack won me the bet (only had £5 on him as opposed to the £20 on Vaughan).

I think this season I might be going for Nakhi Wells @ 30/1 but have a fear that if he scores 15-20 by Xmas he'll be nabbed by a EPL club.

Anyways, I'm off to do a bit more research and will list a few other suggestions later.

Anyone else got any tips?

Swansea to be relegated is one of my main bets this year.
They're looking like losing quite a few of their best players this year and I think that Monk doesn't have the nous to spend the funds correctly.
Like that Wells bet too if he was playing with Norwich or one of the favourites for promotion he'd be a lot shorter in the betting.

Wells is a cracking player but if he starts well I'll probably lock-in a profit in case he gets sold at Xmas....I got £20 at about 34/1

Swans to go down? Best price I've seen is 5/1...I'm not convinced as I think there are at least 3 or 4 worse teams WBA, Leicester, Burnley, Hull and maybe also Villa.

Been busier than I thought today but just been looking at Division One and am amazed at how poor the signings in general have been. I've almost ruled ALL 24 teams out of contention for top spot! Given that someone has to win it, I think I might be plucking for Doncaster, they have a very solid defence and the best player in the division, Harry Forrester (who if he ever gets an injury-free run could prove good enough for the EPL) who could take this division by storm. He missed all of last season but apparently is fully fit and raring to go. I haven't even managed to spot any obvious top goalscorer in this division.

Have you done a four way prediction for each of the league winners, each way bet is best for that.
I've done a few.

Not yet, I've only just started looking into it but hope to have my 4 teams finalised by tomorrow. It looks like I'll be plumping for Doncaster in the 1st division and I'm really liking Norwich for the Championship.

They have got rid of the useless VanWolfswinkel and Elmander and replaced them with Lafferty & Grabban. I wouldn't be convinced by a Lafferty/Grabban partnership but they still have Hooper and I'm still a huge fan of his and still think he'll could score goals in the top division.

Given Hughton's insistence of playing VanWolfswinkel and Elmander ahead of Hooper regularly last season and given the fact the Norwich had the least creative midfield in the EPL ever...Hooper still managed 8 goals in 24 games (Elmander/VanW managed 2 goals BETWEEN them).

Norwich were unlucky last season in that their 2 most creative midfielders (both wingers; Elliott Bennett & Anthony Pilkington) missed almost the whole season. With these 2 back adeed to Nathan Redmond and Hoolahan, there should be far more creativity and Hooper will thrive. There is always the risk that the manager might be daft enough to pair Lafferty & Grabban up front unfortutunately but hopefully he'll realise it has to be Hooper + 1 in most games.

CM they look good enough for a title challenge at the this level, Howson, Fer & Johnson as top level for this division.

The defence is decent.

I would be tempted towards a bet on Hooper as top goalscorer but because I can't trust the manager to even select him for sure and also the fact that, if he is as prolific as I suspect, he'll be back in the EPL by Xmas I'll give it a miss.

Luton to win league 2 @Pesam?
What you reckon?
I fancy them strongly.
Not sure about Luton Leo, I know they were impressive last season in winning the Conference (I didn't see any of their games) and I know they're tipped to do well this season but having looked at the squad I think they'll be top 7 but probably not top 3.

I'm still struggling to pick a likely winner in this league but the I'm leaning towards Burton Albion. Carlisle and Stevenage just lack a cutting edge so if either of them pull in a good young loanee up front soon then they will challenge.

Oxford are another team who are only a player or two away from looking a threat.

There's a lot of fuss about Bury & Shrewsbury who have been the busiest in the transfer market but I don't see either of them as potential winners.

As things stand I'm looking at...............

Liverpool 12/1
Norwich 10/1
Doncaster 16/1
Burton 16/1

So that's just a 40,000/1 4-timer 🙂

Not sure which site but one of my housemates has got 5/1 on Bojan to be team top scorer for Stoke which seems pretty good!

Actually I've also seen him at 6/1 somewhere. Biram Diouf was 2/1, Odemwingie was 4/1, Arnatovic 6/1, Bojan 6/1, Walters was about the same. They had Crouch at 3/1 but I think he can be written off as he will probably be sold. I didn't see a price for Jerome but I assume he's been sold.

I tipped United NOT to finish top 6 last season and am following that moment of inspired genius with.....£18 Chelsea not to finish top 4 to win £200.

My 1st goalscorer bets include..Nakhi Wells £30 @ 35/1, £20 Hooper* @ 20/1 and I'm trying to get £9 on Callum Wilson @ 65/1 but as yet no takers.

The Hooper bet is a risk as he might end up back in the EPL at any stage this season so I'll take a profit on him if he starts the season well.

I fancy Leeds to get relegated and Blackpool to surprise everyone and stay up. I haven't got bets on these yet due to poor liquidity on Betfair but might (shudders) back these with a high street bookie.

I'll stick with the 40,000/1 shot of LFC, Norwich, Doncaster and Burton as my divisional winners.
