villa is easy worth 30 million and silva 20. they'll do well if they can do that and become a force once more overnight.

if only we had money like that, although i have a sneaking suspicion half of it would go on another 2 reserve keepers and a defensive midfielder or two. ok just joking

in all honesty i'd sell masch, doseena and babel in january if it meant we could raise most of the money to buy these two then and prevent utd from having them.

442 with aquaman next to gerrard with torres and villa upfront would catapult us to be ahead of utd immediately.
 
I want to know how many teams have successfully sold three or more players, and replaced them all in a January window.

Even the wheeler-dealer extraordinaire Harry Redknapp would find that a difficult task.

Valencia turned down 2 offers of 42mil Euros for Villa, so I highly doubt that they'd take £50mil for both of them.

Thats right. They will have to spunk close to 60 million pound to get the two of them, but by-god they will be a team to beat if that happens...shudders.

for the sake of speculation it would be interesting to see how the team were to line up if we were to purchase them? who would lose out mash and lucas (with stevie and aqualini in midfield).

That's exactly what I was going to say.

The other thing worth noting as pointed out by Oliver Holt today, the Glazers other team (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) are one of the worst teams in the NFL because they've been operating with the lowest payroll in the NFL for the past four years, which is when they began making huge interest payments on United's loans. They operate 19m below the salary cap which is the lowest ever recorded in the NFL.

United simply don't have that 50m to spend. Not a hope of it.

Given that they rejected not one, but two 40 million plus bids in the summer then I guess the answer is no.
 
we can raise 40 million selling masch, doseena and babel. 60 million would secure both of them. we would be 20 million short

we should try because if utd buy these two they will be strong enough to win the title again. masch in all likelihood will leave in the summer. no one will miss babel or doseena who would be keen on a move in january to lift their world cup chances.

40 million now and 20 million in the summer that can be offset a lit bit by the sale of voronin. got to be worth a try. for those that mock the idea what else could we do?
