However I'm pretty sure I read that Pato isn't really working with Ibrahimovic and surely AC are keen to keep Ibra as he has been a resounding success. So if we could persuade him that we are on the up, who knows.

Probably a longshot and might be silly, but instead of taking cash, we could consider this:
Ship him to Lille in exchange for Hazard and Gervinho.
For us: We need players now rather than money we can't spend, so getting a highly-rated midfielder and a generally well-regarded striker in return works for us. We probably lose out in the dollar value, but I'd rather we have some good legs to kick the ball now to help us win the Europa League and push for Europe next season.
For Lille: They get a world class striker upgrade who can help them push for the title and a CL position next season. Better still, they should be able to sell him in the summer in an auction; in essence they could end up getting more money than if they sold Hazard and Gervinho in the summer. Okay, so they lose out on a midfielder, but the honey pot at the end compensates for that. Question is whether Torres is allowed to be transferred twice in a year?
For Torres: He gets a shot at a title (since he's sooooooooo all about winning; he won't be winning the league with us for the rest of the season that's for sure); he can then up and go to his dream team in the summer. Just needs to bear playing a weaker league in the next few months, but hey, he'll end up with a medal!
A lot of stars need to line up for that, I know! 😀
