I hope he stays and he gets a wakeup call on Wednesday, and then gets it all again off both sets of supporters against Chelsea.

LFC reject Torres transfer request
28th Jan 2011 - Latest News

Liverpool FC have confirmed that Fernando Torres has on Friday evening submitted a transfer request. The request has been rejected.

The Club said in a statement: "Fernando Torres tonight submitted a written transfer request, which has been rejected by Liverpool.

"Fernando is under a long-term contract and the Club expects him to honour the commitment he made to Liverpool FC and its supporters when he signed the agreement."

And do we know for sure that when this happened he was aware of the progress on the Suarez front?

Yeah RH, Suarez deal was agreed yesterday afternoon.

Well considering we got Suarez on Friday afternoon, I'd say yes?

Llorente please, looks the business and can play up front on his own.

Carroll can fuck off just like Sturridge, he's a pisshead and a trouble maker

Is Lass really that cheap?

He's not an automatic starter and not a galactico so I'd imagine they'll be looking to offload him in the summer.

I'm quite sure the Torres PR machine will claim he didn't want to move until he was satisfied we had brought someone in who would cover for his loss.

In terms of raw ability i wouldn't mind a gamble on Hulk at Porto.

I like him a lot too. He and Suarez would certainly give CBs a tough day at the office.

Handing in a transfer request because of a lack of impetus in the transfer market to buy the players we need adds up.

Wanting to go to Chelsea doesn't.

The fact his transfer request was put in as soon as Suarez deal was confirmed suggests otherwise. As do the reports he is refusing to take calls from Kenny.

He's doing a Macherano, if we had a game today, I wonder if he'd refuse to play?

Well is he refusing to train as well?

Our only ITKs.

Only way we could replace Torres is to splash the cash on either Llorente or Aguero.

We want to go forward, not be going backwards.

I'm yet to hear a quote from Fernando, but I'd imagine he's feeling exactly the same as a lot of us. Playing transfer poker in January when we blatantly need 1 Stiker (bagged), 1 Winger, 1 Middie (adam??) and 1 LB.

Just seen some mention it on the other thread and it's exactly who I want. Alexandre Pato. He would really soften the blow of Torres going.

ITK?

Anyway, what you're saying Doc is that he wants to leave us, and it isn't about lack of ambition in the transfer market.

Which, if true, doesn't explain why he didn't hand in a request earlier.

I can't help thinking he'd just had enough of the lack of incoming quality and by the time he decided to hand in his request the Suarez deal wasn't enough to stop him.

I refuse to believe he'd *rather* be at Chelsea.

It just isn't true.

M'Vila 15m
Hazard 20m
Lukaku 22m
Douglas Costa 20m

All the above are around 20 years old, with acres of potential and wonderful resale value.

We'd be tramsformed as an attacking unit and have a top-notch defensive midfielder to hold it together alongside Gerrard/Meireles.
