I don't see it as a huge risk to appoint such a person as interim boss. Solskjaer himself did an okay job smoothing things over after Mourinho laid waste to the place. It's if and when such appointments are made permanent that problems can arise - e.g.us and the King (sadly) or Solskjaer again.
That said, I've noted some of the less complimentary references to Rangnick above and I very much share your hope that this blows up in their faces.
That is great news.
The man's a cunt and useless.
As long as mastermind woodward is around then it really doesn’t matter which puppet he has around.
Although RR is a good choice as any for DOF.
Well this is very satisfying to read. Hopefully the players get the hump early doors.
Doesn't Woodward leave soon?
I did find it odd Klopp fawning over Ralf before he's even in the job. It was almost false the way he was coming across.
He's said he may delay his departure.
Indeed, besides which he wasn't due to go till April anyway.
Fucking hell 25 pages and counting on the future of those cunts LOL
Well the thread started slightly differently with us all wishing Ole the best of luck.
Now its changed somewhat, but what better example of being a committed footy fan than revelling in your main rivals utter demise?
Was not having a dig at anyone, i just think its fucking funny as fuck that we have such a large thread on this. Honest to God, i just wish Watford had stopped scoring at 2-1, its the margin of that defeat that done him.
You guys just have poor sportsmanship. In the spirit of charity and magnanimity, I wish Man Utd the best of luck this weekend and hope they win 0-3 with their opponent's keeper being sent off.
Lest we forget how long it took Jurgen to implement gengen-pressing at Liverpool.
And still it took the purchases/usage of:
A pressing monster in Firmino.
A defensive shield in Fabinho.
A mammoth both in the air and sprinting in VVD..
And a keeper-sweeper in Alisson.
To really make it work.
United have a better starting point, sure.. but they still have to deal with a lazy bugger in Ronaldo they have to fudge in, a midfield "shield" of Fred, Harry Maguire protecting a high line and DDG who likes to stay on his line.
So unless he plans on dropping some of these players, I find it hard to see how that United side can play the high press game without leaving massive holes at the back to counter.
Now that they have a care taker manager...I want the guy to do so poorly that even the collective genius of all xperteleven players in this forum couldn't save them from their impending doom...
Yes, that’s a good point.
Apparently may stay on as advisory role now. Not sure what that means but if it’s the same level advisory Alex Ferguson has had over managers since he left then I would be all for it.
So Carrick has surprised everyone after the Arsenal game and announced he’s leaving his role at United. Says it was mostly family reasons and also partly out of loyalty to Ole - but I wonder if he is bitter that he wasn’t offered a chance to earn the job of the interim.
In any case, after presiding over 2 crucial wins and a draw vs Chelsea amid improved performance levels, his stock has risen considerably - I can see him being hired to manage Spurs after Conte leaves in a huff. If Rangnick starts making drastic changes and getting embroiled in conflicts, as I expect, I think many United fans will wish Carrick had stayed on…
This Ragnick media frenzy is funny. He won 1 German cup 10 years ago, and that's it, nothing else at top level. Other coaches talk about him I glowing terms because he's not a real rival. He's just Bielsa without the bucket
Oh where has he said this? Haven't seen it anywhere
Lol this Man U supporter is spot on:
