Liverpool make 'concrete move' for €20m forward Benfica want to make next star
Liverpool continue to be linked with a move for Chicago Fire winger Jhon Duran

Liverpool are competing with Benfica for the signature of Chicago Fire teenager Jhon Duran, according to reports.
The Reds have previously been linked with a move for the 19-year-old Colombian winger. And now Italian journalist Raffaele Amato has offered an update on the situation.
Amato tweeted that Liverpool are ‘making concrete moves’ for Duran but face competition from other clubs including re-sale specialists Benfica. The Portuguese outfit are said to have bid more for the player than the Reds.

The Eagles are thought to be looking for a replacement for Argentina star Enzo Fernandez - himself a player who has been heavily linked with Liverpool - who could be sold by Benfica at a massive profit in the summer.

Chicago Fire are ‘aiming to collect €20m’ for their young forward, who only joined the club last January from Envigado in Colombia for a fee of €1.7m.
Duran has made an impact since his arrival, however, scoring eight goals and providing five assists in 27 appearances and earning three caps for his national side in the process.

Amato also claims that Aston Villa are looking to capture Duran, who they are said to have spoken to this week.

Alexis Mac Allister 'open to offers'

Representatives of Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister will listen to offers for the Argentina World Cup star, according to the player's father and agent.
Liverpool are among a clutch of big-name clubs to have been linked with the 24-year-old since he helped Lionel Messi acheive his ultimate goal in Qatar. And it seems that the Seagull's engine room man is open to the prospect of a move.
La Repubblica reports that Liverpool are interested in Mac Allister, but also names Benfica and Borussia Dortmund as potential suitors. AS claims that Arsenal and Atletico Madrid are both interested, while CalcioMercatoWeb claims Antonio Conte wants him at Spurs.
Not to be outdone, Juventus are billed as another serious destination and it is on that speculation that the player's father Carlos Mac Allister has broken his silence. He told TuttoMercatoWEB. “I can only say that together with the club we will analyse the offers we receive [and] then we will decide what will happen to Alexis’ future.
“He is doing very well in England and he is grateful to Brighton because they gave him the possibility to reach Europe. However, we cannot provide a price, nor do we say who called us. We don’t want to give information that could prejudice imminent negotiations if any.”

Imo Macallister definitely has a lowish release clause or some sort of agreement to leave. I don’t believe he signs a new contract just before the World Cup without significant incentives.

The Echo state that we are rumoured to be after Jhon Duran. A couple of twitter accounts claim the same from this source.

Journalism at its laziest. The source doesn't mention us at all as being interested. But rather Brentford, Aston Villa and Fulham

Along with Benfica

I'm sure we were 'interested' but probably not enough to make a bid.

I wouldn't cry for this kid.
He's from an ordinary world.

If we’re looking to sign him quickly after hearing of Benfica’s interest, it’d certainly be a reflex signing…

Yeah - the word "Interested" seems to be associated with us quite a bit. We are the elite club in Europe that is top of the Window Shoppers list.

We went into this window needing a MF if the club and Klopp think we won't have a MF injury situation soon, they're fucking deluded. I said the return of Naby could fuck things up. And Melo was a royal fuck up
Hoping this is all waffle

I saw that.. but then I couldn't find the original source.

So unless he said it on a podcast. I'm not able to find the original quote.

Appaz from his match report/article. I doubt it means much given how out of the blue we signed Gakpo.

There is loads of young talent available right now. It doesn’t have to cost 100M.

Feels like we’ve been asleep the wheel for the last few years.

Really really frustrating.

Let’s just hope we’re trying to dampen the noise to been able to get something quietly done.

Else we’d better look at getting Morton back from Blackburn (where he’s seriously impressed) and hope he’s ready enough to rotate into midfield.

Hopefully what he really means is we need to wait on Brighton replacing Caicedo. But it doesn’t sound like anything is imminent at the very least.

Who's getting sold? Keita/Ox?

All this shit about a big transfer window. So basically our net transfer is between £30-40m. Fucking Arsenal is spending £80m on Mudryk and they aren't even in the CL

I respect that we aren't building up debt like Man U but we made £70m+ profit. The club is attractive business for investors. Fucking loosen the purse strings.

Chill.. something will happen.

Will we spend another €100m+? No
Will we buy someone... all the noises from Jurgen suggest yes. Its all smoke and mirrors.
