So which of our loaned young players can come in and play regularly in the first team next season, considering the extra games we'll be playing?

Couldn't begin to forecast it TBH. Who thought Sterling would become as important to us as quickly as he has this season? With more games to play it's that much less likely that we'll be fielding the same side from game to game anyway.

Just realized that Wisdom isn't the only one involved in end of season promotion playoffs. Jakub Sokolik, our U-21 centreback, started the last 10 games for League Two club Southend, during which they kept 7 clean sheets. Southend will play Burton in the semi finals. They seem to rate him there. Seen him play much over there, @Pesam?

His contract ends in June this year I think, and I doubt he'll be retained. Will probably hope to catch some scouts' eyes and land a job with a club in the lower leagues perhaps.

Saw Sokolik twice this season and was very impressed with him both times. He built up a very good relationship with John Egan, his CB partner who is on loan from Sunderland, and they are the best pairing in the division by a distance.

I mentioned him on here having seen him recently and was informed by gkmacca, who is well up on our youth players, that he's unlikely to be kept on by LFC. I was surprised because, even if he proves good enough only for The Championship we could still get a decent fee for him. I'd give him a new contract and loan him out next season to a Championship club.

Right, good to hear that.

Just did a Google search on his U-21 CB partner, Sama, and it seems like there's interest from Vfl Bochum (German 2nd Division) in taking him. This is very recent; just about 2 or 3 days ago.

Ins requirements of VfL the 1.88-meter center-back would fit perfectly.

Is it Brad Smith? I thought he's Australian?

Think he was born thee but his parents are English. He has already played for England U17's and U19's so this is the natural next step.

Cheers. I always thought he was Australian. Well good that we have another English defender to blood.

Looks like Groningen have decided not to take up the option to buy Adorjan after his loan spell. Has got a year left on his contract.

Groningen does not go with Liverpool mercenary

FC Groningen will after this season farewell Krisztian Adorján. The option in the contract to take over the 21-year-old Hungarian midfielder finally is not lifted.

The northerners were still inconclusive Liverpool, which Adorján rents to Groningen end of March. It might be thought about whether or not to exercise the option for longer. "After an evaluation between player and club is jointly decided to exercise this option do not use," the club.

'From both sides, it has become not entirely what we expected it, "said manager Henk Veldmate technical issues. "From Adorján was a certain role and development expected and he himself had certain expectations. We came in view of the agreements with Liverpool now at the point that we had to take in the future, taking a decision we have come together to the conclusion that we could each choose better. "Our own way

The Hungarians came in 21 official matches for Groningen to three hits. For the first two matches against AZ to Europa League ticket (Thursday), he is injured. Possibly he could still Sunday into action during the return.

Had high hopes for Nemeth, he looked the business in the ressies but sadly hardly got a chance in the 1st team and faded away. Where is he now?

[article=http://bhdragons.com/armin-hodzic-bosnias-rising-star-forward/]Armin Hodžić has lit the Bosnian Premijer Liga on fire in the 2013-14 season, scoring 14 goals in 28 games, at a rate of 1 goal every 150 minutes. He finished as top goalscorer for Željezničar and 2nd top goalscorer in the league.

The young 19 year old forward boasts a deadly combination of pace and dribbling ability, leading many Željezničar fans and Bosnian league viewers alike to coin him the nickname “The Luis Suarez of the Premijer Liga”. Armin is Liverpool FC’s player after all, on loan to Željezničar.

At the ages of 15-16, Armin broke several youth league records in Bosnia-Herzegovina. At 16, he scored 45 goals in half as many games for Željezničar’s U17 team in the Bosnian U17 league. Despite the low level of competition, the sheer volume of goals is unseen in the league. He continued his goalscoring run for Željezničar’s U19 team, scoring an average of a goal a game as a 17 year old, playing alongside players two years older than him. Liverpool signed the promising young forward on May 2011 straight from Željezničar’s U19 team. Armin went on to play a series of friendlies for Liverpool’s reserves that summer before being sent back to Željezničar on loan. He netted two fine goals that summer, one a fantastic chip against the U20 United States national team

Unfortunately he suffered a terrible injury thereafter that left him absent for nearly the entire 2011-12 season. He made his return to league football in the 2012-13 season when he netted 4 times in 613 minutes of playing time for Željezničar in the Bosnian top divison, a goal every 153 minutes. Despite his great performances, the 18 year old saw little of the pitch, as Amar Osim often favored the experienced and prolific Eldin Adilovic. It was only a matter of time before the youngster exploded with goals. With Adilovic offloaded to Turkey it was Armin Hodžić who was to lead the front-line for Željezničar in the 2013-14 season, and he did so in fashion.

The goal-scoring run started on September 25, 2013 when he bagged a hat-trick against Leotar. After that, he went on to score 11 more goals to total his tally to 14 goals. A good portion of those goals were expertly taken, well beyond the league’s level. The goals, however, don’t tell the whole story. “Ari”, as Željezničar fans call him, employs his pace and technique to create plays from deep and aid in midfield. He often covers the entire length of the pitch, averaging the most dribbles from his side.

Armin Hodžić has played 12 games for the Bosnian U17 & U19 national teams combined, scoring 6 goals, at a rate of 1 goal every 138 minutes. He is a recent addition to the U21 Bosnian national team, not having debuted yet in a competitive match.

Armin is set to return to Liverpool as the Bosnian league has come to a close. Liverpool plans to loan him to a Belgian Jupiler Pro League club for the 2014-15 season. Belgium would be an inviting destination for a player of his age and abilities; many young players have progressed through the ranks in Belgium to go on and become big players in the top leagues.

Time will tell if Hodžić will lead Bosnia’s attacking line in the future. For comparison, Manchester City star Edin Dzeko only managed a total of 5 goals in 40 games for Željezničar at Hodžić’s age and was hardly considered a starter for Željezničar, while Hodžić is a star forward for the club and arguably their best player this season. Currently occupying the center-forward position, Armin would also work well as a secondary forward, where he could use his dribbling ability and creativity to assist other forwards as well as score himself. Hodzic sounds like a great prospect and for some reason I think he'll make it.

Sama has appaz moved to Bochum

Had high hopes for Nemeth, he looked the business in the ressies but sadly hardly got a chance in the 1st team and faded away. Where is he now?

In the Dutch league - Roda JC. He's not doing too badly there - 8 goals and 6 assists in 22 starts and 2 subs.

I liked him a lot too but he got quite unlucky with injuries when he got nearer to the senior team.

I quite like Adorjan; but he won't make it in this team. He actually topped the reserves in scoring assists last season if I'm not wrong and probably hit a high number of assists as well. He started off reasonably well with Groningen I think, but seems to have faded along the way. I suppose he'll be off on loan again soon.

I think we still have Kristof Polgar with our U18s though I don't recall seeing him that much; not sure if he's been injured or been unable to get past his peers.

Looks like both are safe and Osasuna are down. Nyom is outrageously fast for Granada - pity he's a bit crazy. He just knocks the ball forward and then bombs past every opponent down the right.
