It would have been a massive sign of goodwill if the clubs agreed to use a set percentage of the increase towards admission prices, esp aimed at getting the next generation in the ground.

In real terms it wouldn't have really cost any more money, cos it'd be across the board so no one team would have a better advantage in terms of wages & the deal is so much better than other league's they wouldn't miss out on players to them either.

It's a huge own goal not doing something along those lines, both now & for the future of the game.

Normally I'm a believer in market forces setting prices, but in the case of football it is more complicated than that. You could say that as Liverpool get a capacity crowd for every home game, there is no reason to reduce ticket prices. But most fans are only prepared to pay through the nose because of their loyalty to the club, which is being exploited.

As much as I miss going the match, I can live with that.

It's the fact I can't take Luke the game regularly that hurts, cos he won't grow up watching Liverpool, & neither will any of his mates.

Long term that's gonna hurt our club, it's not right having so few kids at the match, the Kop used to have fucking hundreds of us packed in, all over the place, not just in the kids sections.

Most of the fans of tomorrow will likely only be going to the game regularly once they start working, that's not healthy & may not even be sustainable long term.

At cup games & low key European nights the atmosphere is shite cos it's full of parents like me taking kids the game who now have no idea what to do, even groups of teenagers who don't know what to do or how to behave.

Inexperienced fans can sometimes be irritating. Like when some people in your row sit down and get a picnic out before the start, and then grumble when you want to get past to your seat! 😀
