We've tried 4-4-2, 4-5-1 and 4-3-3 and none of them have stood out as being a better choice than the others...

What formation would you like to see us try out this season?
 
Im gonna go with a formation that ensures NONE of the players I now think are cunts play.

I'd probably go 4-2-3-1 but we don't really have the midfield players/forward to play it effectively so its all a bit fucking shit really. We've bought midfield players without a plan of what we are going to do with them.

Oncey we struggle to win with 11 players, with 10 we have fuck all chance.
 
There isn't really any formation we can play well.

Suarez and Carroll need to play together in a 4-4-2 to get the best out of them. But we don't have a midfield two that are good enough to play 4-4-2. Every other formation that solidifies the midfield blunts our attack.

It's all a bit shit really.

I think 4-1-3-2 is probably the most likely formation to win a title but I think 4-3-3 is a more appropriate formation for the current personell.

ross is absolutely correct, we have one set of players that are more suited to a 4-4-2 and other set of players more suited to a 4-4-3/4-5-1
so any formation you pick enhance one set of players but blunt another set of players. it's a fucking mess.

ryan's post is correct (but I said it ages ago) we need to work out what system we want to play and then bin anyone who doesn't fit into that system.
my preferred system is
with everyone fit (and no new signings)

but;
a) I don't thik jonjo would provide a good enough shield for the defense
b) bellamy can't play two games in a row
c) maxi and gerrard are past their prime.

this is the system I think would get the most out of our best players and I've included all the players I think are our best players.

Coates for goals(we need em, also he should stay healthier than Agger/might be time to cash in cause we arent winning anything big)
I want Cavani or another goal scoring striker who understands movement. Also don't think Gerrard is dynamic enough to be up top anymore. I want Suarez to create more than squander.
The LW would be Bellamy and Maxi starting next year. Lets see what Sterling can do now though.
 
seeing as we're talking about formations, what the FUCK is our formation these days?
a) defend deep draw teams onto us and hit teams on the break?
b) a traditional formation where we cross early and often to the striker?
c) tight triangles around the opposition box to draw them out of position?
d) packed midfield and forcing the play through the middle of the park?

WHAT?! what is our fucking gameplan?
 
Martinez in central midfield and Eriksen in the advanced position.
 
It fucking destroys me to think about how very VERY long ago people on here were talking about Silva, Villa, Ericksen, Alves, Dzeko, Higuain, Shaqiri, Martinez, Young and a fucking million other amazing players who were worth two bits of fuck all when we all 'scouted' them.
We could have signed every single fucking one of those players if we had scouts worth a shit.
Ok thats harsh, we did unearth some younglings who BETTER be fucking boss one day, but fucking hell!!!!
Now all those players are 20-50 million players and we've got Henderson and Adam.
