Mourinho apologised for the hushing a few seasons back at an lma dinner the other night, apparently.
So he's a liar then? Didn't he insist that the "hushing" was aimed at Journalists 45 rows back in the Millenium that day or something? And now he's admitting that was in fact bollocks?

He's such a conceited bellend.

Aston Villa should hire Villas Boas.

"Villa boss Villas Boas was happy with the way his team played."

He'd probably be shit of course, but he looks slick.

Slick?

He looks like fucking Rocco from Boondock Saints there.

Bolton face a second battle in a year for Owen Coyle – this time to keep him at the Reebok Stadium.

Coyle controversially quit neighbours Burnley to become Bolton boss and has turned them into challengers for European football.

But the 44-year-old Scot has done such a great job that he is being tipped for a move to one of English football’s major powers.

He’s already been linked with Liverpool should Roy Hodgson fail to secure his position there. And many Bolton fans openly concede they fear losing him to Manchester United when Alex Ferguson bows out.

Chairman Phil Gartside said: “Our results and performances have improved greatly and that is a measure of Owen’s influence.

“We’ve virtually the same players that he inherited, but he’s got the best out of them, playing in a style that is attractive as well as effectie.â€

I'd go for Owen Coyle. A gamble for sure, but I think he's got it.
agreed. worth the gamble imo.

There's a few stories linking Coyle with Arsenal.

Wenger to move into a DOF role, and Coyle to manage.

Wonder how he'd feel about having the previous, very successful, manager in such a position though. OK, he'd have to deal with a DOF here as well, but Comolli doesn't cast nearly as long a shadow.

quite. any such arrangement would seem to have disaster written all over it.

Disaster ?

Walking into a job where there is the following:

a) a good youth system
b) Room to increase the wage bill
c) money to spend on transfers
d) One of footballs great strategists as your DOF.

He'd be mad to turn it down if he's offered it.

The DOF approach sounds a bit crap, tbh.

The only reason it's in vogue here is because our managers are so shit at transfers and they're *hoping* some suit can stop it.

I don't know about Coyle yet. It's important not to get carried away. He's doing well now, but let's see if he can sustain it.

Once upon a time McLeish looked like a good manager and people wanted him to take over.

Coyle's team appear to play a completely different brand of football to McLeish's.

I wouldn't be able to bear watching Birmingham week in, week out.

Agreed. Too many cooks, and all that. It's not for nothing that in Europe, where the DOF set-up is the norm, what we'd call managers are known, and expected to function, as coaches instead.

Agree with all of those but whatever success Coyle will have will be attributed to Wenger and Coyle will take the blame for any failure. Wenger is their Shankly, unless Coyle is as good as Paisley, it will be a tough act to follow.

Nostalgia is a very powerful emotion which removes all the negatives and accentuates the positives. If Coyle's Arsenal have a dip in form or one bad buy, the fans will forget the 5-6 years of no trophies and will sing Wengers name. They will act as if Arsenal played like the "invincibles" all the time.

I don't think Arsenal fans are as in love with Wenger as you make out.

They're craving silverware just as much as we are, and Wenger has some massive blindspots which must be frustrating for the supporters.

Half a decent season with Bolton and Owen Coyle is now considered good enough to take over as Liverpool manager?
