"@Liddellpool: #rumour #LFC are planning an ambitious bid to bring Bayern Munich’s Xherdan Shaqiri to Anfield"

According to Sports Direct News Liverpool will make a move for Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri if they do indeed miss out on Salah.

Shaqiri joined Bayern in 2012, but has struggled to hold down a regular first-team place, either under Pep Guardiola or predecessor Jupp Heynckes.

However, with Die Roten chasing trophies on numerous fronts, whether Guardiola would allow the former Basel man to leave is another matter.

don't know too much about him. 22 but not a regular for bayern, which not a bad thing as he is competing with hot shit. anyone seen him play?

Liverpool have communicated with Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich to ask about the availability of winger Xherdan Shaqiri, according to reports.

The Reds are considering the Swiss international to be a contingency measure, should they fail to convince FC Basel to sell the latter's highly-rated midfielder, Mohamed Salah.

Shaqiri, who is also a product of Basel, signed with the Bavarians in 2012 but has found it hard to make a breakthrough in the first-team.

The acquisition of Mario Gotze and Thiago Alcantara last summer has placed him further below the pecking order.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring the 22-year-old to Anfield on loan and give him the much needed opportunities that he craves for at the Allianz Arena.

In any case, the link will help the Reds' case in speeding up talks concerning Basel's Salah, but a Shaqiri deal would, not at all, be that bad.

Hes amazing.
Him and Antoine have been my two of choice for a couple of years. Since before they were at their current clubs.
Pjanic aswell.

Good player, never going to get past those ahead of him at the mo so woukd be good for him too.
I wouldn't want to go big money (certainly worth £12m or so) but at the right price he could be a great pickup, got pace, tricks and a good shot.

I don't think Shaqiri really wants to leave Bayern so perhaps a loan is the best we can hope for. It'd be some consolation either way after a very disappointing window.

And hopefully it'd allow us to fuck Moses off back to Chelsea where he can (fail to) compete with Salah for a spot on their bench.

If our options are:

A) don't sign him at all
B) sign him permanently and breach FFP meaning no CL next season
C) loan him, and keep us eligible for the CL .

I don't understand why anyone would complain with C
